Pictures are coming out darker after being taken with the front & back cameras. Compared with the iPhone 14 Pro & the iPhone 14's photo looks better. Is anyone else experiencing the same thing with their new iPhone 15s or knows the fix to this? This is frustrating since I need to take photos & videos for work.

The only way I can get my image to look the same in the photos app and elsewhere is to Go to Settings -> Photos-> and toggle OFF View Full HDR. This shows the image as you can expect it to look outside of the photo app when exporting. You just lose all the lovely HDR brightness and contrast. Still very disappointing.

Has anyone been able to resolve the issue on photos appearing darker than they actually are?
Also, the quality of the images are so poor I’ve stopped taking pictures completely. I’m so upset that I bought the iPhone 15 Pro.
I first notice on holiday when my photos came out super dark, on live they show the natural lighting but the captured image is too dark, if you change key photo the image becomes pixilated.
Also some of my images have a “Glow” on people so they come out bright and dont have any focus and detail.
As others have mentioned on this thread, we should be submitting tickets to Apple. Hopefully your wife will do the same.I submitted another ticket today. Thanks

Take the picture in portrait studio light. Then turn off portrait after
I never use Live Photos and that doesn’t fix it. There is no manual fix that we can do, Apple would have to submit the fix from their end via a software update.
Top of the line phone and this is a dud - this is a software or main camera issue but other camera apps improve the main camera but not to the extent of what I was expecting from their marketing

I assume you have a photo editor and before printing you check the photo and correct at least the brightness, which is something you do even when you take photos with a Nikon SLR
This response does not help. Please provide a resolution for this in particular for the iPhone 15 models. There's nothing wrong with my settings. I had matched the major settings with my friends' older iPhones. The iPhone 12 (my previous phone) produces better photos than this.
Same issue. I have also spoken to senior advisor and did some troubleshooting. She escalated the case to engineer department instead. Still waiting for an update. Hope they will find a way to resolve it
I have the same issue. I have a scheduled phone call with an Apple technical support representative for tomorrow. I've been considering selling my phone and switching to the iPhone 14 Pro, which takes brighter photos. However, if there's a chance this can be fixed, I'd prefer to stick with the 15 Pro.
I just traded in my iPhone XR after 4 years of waiting for an iPhone I would really like. I have the 15 plus, and the camera is horrible. The XR took MUCH better photos. I regret my decision. I hope there’s a fix for this. Apple, I think we all can say we are disappointed…please fix this issue asap.
I also just got the 15Pro after trading in my XR, specifically for the camera. I edit images in Photoshop and Lightroom, and they all come out MUCH darker, and flatter once exported. I am devastated after waiting so long to upgrade my phone to see that my images look awful. PLEASE FIX THIS APPLE!!! I need this camera to function correctly for work and personal use.
I had multiple calls with senior advisor. Even escalated it to the engineer and their response is that this is normal behaviour of Iphone 15 pro max. So I think Im just gonna replace it with iphone 13 pro max. Same issues noted with 14
