It seems that whenever I take pictures even if front of bright light, the iPhone 15 pro max camera dulls it. The processed picture is never as bright the way it was in the picture! My iPhone 11 preserves the bright light but it seems as if the 15 pro max dulls it so it’s never as bright. Is there a way this could be changed???

I found a solution to the front camera issue with iPhone 15.
I recently upgraded my iPhone XR to an iPhone 15 pro and I was really excited about it, expecting it to be a lot better than my old XR. However, turns out the iPhone 15 pro is a big disappointment, especially the front camera. You hold your iphone in front of you and everything looks good, you take the picture and...it looks compeltely different from what you just saw on the screen before taking the picture. The picture looks grey, dull, grainy, and way to overprossesed. I honestly like my XR selfies way better than my 15 pro selfies. So I was thinking about returning my 15 pro and keeping my XR. There does not seem to be any real solution to this, I have tried everything (I thought), taking a screen-shot, using burst, editing the photo afterwards as people have suggested, but nothing seems to really work. The good news is I found a solution. So here comes the guide.
1. You go into settings and search for camera
2. Search for camera
3. Choose formats
4. Click on ProRaW & Resolution Control
5. It doesn‘t matter if you choose HEIF Max, ProRaw 12 MP or ProRaw Max (up to 48 MP) in Pro Default
6. Go into the camera app and turn the front camera on
7. You will se „RAW12“ in the upper right corner, make sure this is on
8. Take a photo
9. Click on the photo
10. It says RAW in the upper left corner now and not portrait
11. Now the photo will still look the same (overprocessed, grey, and grainy)
12. Now choose edit
13. And you will see the photo change and become that raw photo you actually took, it will now look like it did on the screen before you took the photo
14. However you cannot save the photo yet
15. You have to choose adjust and then choose one of the features (exposure, brightness, saturation) it does not matter which one you choose, then adjust to only 1
16. You will not be able to see an adjustment going from 0 to 1
17. But now you can save the photo
18. And there you go, you now have that raw photo you actually took without all that weird processing going on after you take the photo and it will look nearly identical to what you see on the screen before you take the photo (and it looks much more like my iphone XR selfies, just slightly better)
19. It might not be as sharp, but than can easily be adjusted if you edit the photo
So there you go. I am thinking about keeping my iphone 15 pro now, the back camera is very good. I hope this helps for you too.
(I still think videos taken with the front camera lack some color though, I haven't found a solution to this yet, other than editing).
I recently bought an iPhone 15 Plus and it has the same selfie camera issue where the preview looks great but the clicked picture turns out grainy and under-exposed at all times. The result is terrible and unusable. This definitely seems to be a software issue. A screenshot of the preview turns out to be of a much superior quality than the captured image.
Apple PLEASE fix this problem with the front camera!! I recently bought the iPhone 15 Pro and the front camera makes my photos look so dull and grainy. Please do an update to solve this issue! It’s all we ask you to do :(
I am also facing the same issue with the front camera before capturing it is very nice after capture the picture clarity is very bad and grains and colour tone also changing.please fix this issue asap.hope you will do the needful
As my opinion I found in 15 pro max camera is very good for capturing outdoor pictures and videos like trees, greenery , birds , waterfalls etc.But for the face capturing it is very bad with front and back cameras so please fix this issue asap.
I have the same problem the front-camera quality is nul so grainy flou.
when i bought the iphone 15 promax i thought that i have the best front camera quality, i went to the apple store and return my phone and brouht a new one i faced the same problem in the camera.i hope that this problem can be fixed bcz im so disappointed
I believe it is the update that is doing it. I went from iPhone 13 Pro Max to the iPhone 15 and just horrible so dull and to much contrast. I returned it and got the iPhone 14 Pro Max cause I thought it was the iPhone 15 but once I did the 17 update it started doing the same with my iPhone 14 Pro max they need to fix this asap.
Same here, just got a brand new iPhone 15 pro and got extremely disappointed with the quality of front camera pictures. They come out very sharp, dark and grainy. I have watched many camera reviews videos before purchasing my phone, and none of them said anything about this issue… Very disappointed with apple and cannot believe that I payed so much for this…
I came here looking to see if I was the only one. I hate the way it makes me look!! 😩😩😩😩😩😩😩 I really hope that this is something they can do an update on but I will be selling my iPhone if they don’t honestly. 😭 Such a bummer for me.
After the new update the front cam is still like that.No changes.i need the original vivid effect.I bought this new 15 pro for mainly for the photography.I am very sad with the front cam. Pls do the needful asap.

Why is my front camera and when i take selfie is so dull so pale. I hate that i upgrade to 15promax from my Xs Max my Xs Max is way better selfie cam than this new iphone 15promax which i am regretting it.😓 It’s so waste pf my money.😓 Can anyone reach the apple company to fix this matter. I just bought an iPhone 15 pro and I hate front camera. I have the same problem. :( The photos are very bad. Now I don't know if they will fix it or if I should return the phone. The front camera is very important to me. APPLE PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP! If this phone wasn't so expensive, I wouldn't say anything - but the price is insane. Please do something about it!
I just got my brand new 15 pro max and my old iPhone 11 Pro Max had a better selfie camera. I'm very disappointed and this problem better solve quickly or I'm returning it for a downgrade which is more than disappointing.
i have the iphone 15 and it’s the exact same problem. I got the phone for christmas which was over two weeks after purchase so now I can’t even return it. for such an expensive phone the quality should be upgrading not downgrading. apple seriously needs to fix this.
I believe Apple downgraded the iPhone 15's front camera compared to previous models. I recently switched from Samsung to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, excited to have the latest device, but I was really disappointed by the front camera's performance. It produces dark and dull images, making my face look much older than it is. Apple should address this issue with a software update soon, or else I might consider switching back to Samsung.
