The Apple silicon cases are awful

I decided to buy the new Apple silicon case for my iPhone 15 pro max, normally I would get a cheap one off Amazon but thought I might as well get one while I was in the store, and for the two weeks I've had it I've been thoroughly disappointed by the genuinely awful quality of it. I work a normal desk job and don't do anything that should cause this much damage to it, but when I checked it after a week I found numerous chips in the case, for reference, my 3 year old Jtech case from Amazon hasn't got a single mark like this on it. Has anyone else had a similar experience and if so were you able to get Apple to refund/replace the case?
