FaceTime web not working anymore on Windows

This is to do with a Chromium engine update (which FaceTime is designed for Chromium).

I will publish a reply to my own post once I or another person have pinned down the problematic library.

Please note, I am not an Apple employee, I am a professional programmer assisting with this issue which has persisted for over half a year now (according to the Chromium update publish date).

For others here, I will try to provide a snappy way to fix this issue with minimal modification to your browser settings (such as installing a Chromium extension).

When you join the call from your PC, are you following all the steps as listed here and have you ensured that you have all that you need? Here are the steps to look over: Join a FaceTime call from an Android or Windows device - Apple Support.

If so, and the issue remains, you may want to reach out to Apple Support directly for further support. You can reach out to them by clicking here: Get Support or over the phone by calling the number that is most local to your region: Contact Apple for support and service - Apple Support.

Experiencing this as well. Similar errors show up in developer console:

[Error] Failed setting remote description: Failed to execute 'setRemoteDescription' on 'RTCPeerConnection': Failed to set remote offer sdp: The media section with MID='6' has a ssrc-group with semantics FID and an unexpected number of SSRCs.

Might be a red herring, but I had a computer with an older version of Chrome that was still working fine. I updated Chrome on that computer and FaceTime stopped working. The last known working version of Chrome is 116.0.5845.179.
