I got scammed by Better.me app

Even though I don't have a subscription, better.me charged 29 USD to my credit card. I asked for a refund, but there was neither a refund nor an answer. This is a scam and I am complaining. Apple should not be the intermediary for the fraudulent application.

This expense doesn't show up in Apple invoices and so I can't even complain to Apple. Have any of you had an experience like this?

iPhone 11, iOS 16

We have no way of knowing what is reported to Apple, or how many, if any, may be affected.

Unless anyone answers, sharing a similar experience, there is no other way to check.

All the best :-)

Hi brbo,

I canceled the subscription immediately after downloading the app and still the money was charged. And today I canceled my credit card to protect myself so that no more money would be charged... but I cannot accept such blatant fraud. You can also see other complaints about the same issue from the links below. This is a clear fraud. Doesn't Apple have any sanctions or policies for such sites?

Thank you for your reply gülnihal128, and the info., on the extent of the issue.

Seems any fraud rests with the company or vendor of the app that charges you.

You may want to pursue the matter / refund / further through your card-provider.
