Bluetooth devices intermittently disconnect and reconnect from MacBook Pro

I had a 2015 Macbook Pro that presented the issue (not as often as now), then after acquiring a recent model (16-inch, 2021, Apple M1 Max), I expected the issue to be gone. Before Sonoma, I got disconnection once a week or even less than that, but now it is more frequent, sometimes twice a day and during a call, making it more inconvenient.

I use mostly Apple devices: Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, and Trackpad for when I'm tired of the mouse. For audio calls, I switch between AirPods 3rd Generation and Bose Q35II noise canceling headset, which I only use for calls, so they are not always connected.

I'm not sure it helps, but in addition to the Bluetooth devices, I use the HDMI to connect a 2nd Screen and the USBC to connect a 3rd one and the LAN, both in 1920x1080 120 Hz, which is kind of less than the today's standard resolution out there.

I already tried all the suggestions here, but no luck.

I have tried resetting the Bluetooth by executing the command sudo pkill bluetoothd, but after a while, the disconnection happens again.

Additionally, all devices are disconnected simultaneously, and because I have seen the question before, yes, all devices had more than enough battery charge at the disconnection event.

Hey there wolKlow,

Thanks for stopping by the Apple Support Communities.

Based on how you've described your issue and environment, it sounds like you may be experiencing Bluetooth interference. You can learn more about how this can occur and to identify if this is occurring with your situation, and how to resolve it, here: Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference - Apple Support.

You can also test to see if the issue continues in a new user account, which will help determine if there is some setting or other software specific to your user account: New user or group setup on Mac - Apple Support

Have a wonderful day.

Hey Lindsay,

I followed both of your suggestions. The thing is that while connected, the keyboard and trackpad/mouse work perfectly fine, with no lag and no erratic movement or so. Also, when I connect the audio device, everything goes fine, with no interference or cutting off. Still, at a random moment during the day, all devices are suddenly disconnected simultaneously.

Not sure which logs I can look for a clue. So far the only entry related to Bluetooth I have found in the system logs is from the "NotificationCenter", and it says "Failed to find type for bluetooth device '668'" and "Failed to find type for bluetooth device '613'". I saw this entry when only Apple devices were connected.

After running the suggestions in the above post, I didn't have disconnections for a few days. But today the issue started again. In the logs, I have found several entries that appear to be related to Bluetooth.

Some of them are:

com.apple.bluetooth updateDeviceRSSIAndPERStats -- No previous stored HID Latency data for LM Handle 65251 (0xfee3)
com.apple.bluetooth Device hasn't started can not exit suspend for handle 0x2c0a
com.apple.bluetooth Failed to compile SQL statement with error "<private>"
com.apple.bluetooth getInEarStatus: No AACP connection for 08:95:42:EA:45:2F
com.apple.bluetooth -[CBClassicManager handlePeerConnectionCompleted:] <private> not found
***kernel AppleHSBluetoothHIDDriver:0x100021dae Matching has vendor DeviceUsagePage : ff00 bundleIdentifier none ioclass none but transport and vendorID is missing
com.apple.uti Failed to find type for bluetooth device '668'
com.apple.uti Failed to find type for bluetooth device '613'
com.apple.bluetooth No name or address
com.apple.bluetooth dequeueAndSendData: <private> -- handle 0x2E0C, deviceConnectionHandle 0x00FF -- Transaction of type 005 (Set Report) failed since another HID transaction is in progress. Inserting this transaction to the front of the queue.

*** This one is shown as a FAULT, the rest of the entries as ERROR

I hope the above can help.

Thanks in advance.

I'm using only Apple devices, and all of them are disconnected, I think there is something wrong with the Bluetooth driver or so, it seems it gets restarted and that's why the disconnection.
