Wireless Carplay issues 2022 GMC Sierra

I have used wireless carplay in this vehicle successfully since Jan 2023. In the last 3 weeks I have had intermittent issue connecting to wireless carplay when starting the vehicle. I am not sure if this began before the iOS 17 release or not, but i did notice it started once my vehicle had an electronic update. If I stop the vehicle and turn the engine off and restart it connect almost every time. I have tried to document the current state of vehicle and phone when it does not connect and I cannot find any pattern that can be replicated.

Please don't state the obvious, "are you connected, is siri on, etc". I have read through multiple forums and standard apple support. I am looking for ways to diagnose and isolate the issue and was hoping someone on this forum may have similar issues or has found a fix.

My work around was similar, I would go to carplay and the phone doesn't show up, so I hit connect and it asks if I want to switch phone (eventhough my phone doesn't show up) I hit yes, then it tell me to connect to bluetooth, I hit cancel and now my phone shows up in carplay and connects.

This last week I noticed that my sons phone showed up in carplay and seemed to connect each time while my phone still did the thing. The one thing I noticed is he started the whole process with a cable. So I deleted all connections and started a new connection via the cable (it will ask about wireless as well) and once I connected that way, I have not had an issue connecting wirelessly (fingers crossed). Hoping this lasts.
