reopen windows when logging back - MacBook Pro M1 pro and Mac mini M1

I ALWAYS had the "reopen windows when logging back" on on every single Mac I owned but with this new M1 sometimes is not working properly

Usually I have 4 different windows open, sometimes on startup 2 or all just disappear and I have to search and reopen manually

Any fix?

Thanks

Hi!

Here to help.

Need more info.

MacOS? >

MacBook/iMac model? >

  • is it the same apps that won't reopen?
  • windows, you mean, virtual desktops or app-windows/programs?

This information will help me narrow it down.

In the meantime you could do a little test, by adding a test user ( > system settings / system preferences > users and groups) and see if the behaviour is the same.

Let me know!

Kind regards

RRD

Hi

model already in title ( MacBook Pro M1 pro and Mac mini M1 ) osx Ventura on both

Screenshot probably can explain better....on the first pic is what I normally have, sometimes recently when I start the computer, top right and bottom left are not there, had a thought about being both on the external HD but the bottom right is on the same HD, sometimes all windows are not there on start....also if memory is still good, I use to keep different windows with different sort option now every now and then when start computer I find different setup ( I like to have some window sort by name and some by date added )....also, while here is there any way to DO NOT START when I plug in the power to the MacBook Pro and when I open the lid? Not able to adjust this feature is very very annoying

Thanks for your help
