safari delete or clear “recently closed” on Mac

When one clears history, the recently closed list is still populated. What is the mechanism to either clear this or delete the list altogether.?

Hey Jazz Man,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Choosing to clear "All history" should clear the Recently Closed section too. Are these the steps you're following to clear the history: Clear your browsing history in Safari on Mac - Apple Support

From the description we see you have macOS 12.6 installed. Take a moment to back up your Mac and update to macOS 12.7 to see if that helps. Updates can help by installing bug fixes and include security updates too. Update macOS on Mac - Apple Support

Keep us posted.

Take care!
