Unable to delate Safari history

I kinda really need help cause the Mac it's not even mine, when slick in safari (the one next to the apple on the upper part of the screen) and click "configuration" it shows you a new tab of stuff like windows, passwords, security and more, the first one is the one called "general" I don't know what I did but not the fifth option "Delete history" is turn off, and I can't delete the history of Safari.

I need help figuring out how to turn it back on, no matter what I try I can't delete the history

If anyone knows how to fix that please let me know

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 14.1

Among the reasons you may not be able to delete Safari's History is that the Mac is not yours (as you wrote), or if Content and Privacy Restrictions has been enabled:

Settings > Screen Time > Content and Privacy Restrictions > disable.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! It's my sister's Mac and she asked me for help with adds that keep appearing on her widgets about a virus (the Mac has no virus she was just reading manga in some weird page) and so I tried to follow Youtube tutorials to help get rid of those but went wrong

If you have any idea of how to get ride of those adds I'll appreciate it very much

Thank you very much!
