Hi there sanusername,
You'll want to make sure your iPhone is connected to a reliable Wi-Fi network with good signal strength, then tap on the down arrow next to the episode to resume the download. Learn more here: Download and stream shows, movies, and events from Apple TV+, MLS Season Pass, and Apple TV channels - Apple Support
take care.

tapping on the down arrow removes the spisode-- it does not resume the download. i want to restart the down load. the only way i can get them to restart downloading now is to use the down arrow to remove them from the downloads list then add them back.
Hi sanusername,
In this case, it sounds like the Apple TV app may not be responding as expected. Try the guidance below which is from If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open - Apple Support.
1 Close and reopen the app
Force the app to close. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.
2 Restart your device
Restart your iPhone or restart your iPad. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.
3 Check for updates
To see if updates are available for the app, open the App Store, tap your profile icon, then scroll down to see if updates are available. If updates aren't available for the app, update the software on your iPhone or iPad.
4 Delete the app, then redownload it
Delete the app. When you do this, you might lose data that was stored in the app. Then redownload the app. Then check to see if the problem with the app is fixed.
If you need more help, it may be best to reach out to Apple Support from Get Support.
All the best.
Hey sanusername,
Thanks for the screenshot, it's always helpful to be able to see things as you do.
If you remove one of the episodes and download it again, does it complete?
In the article we shared earlier, it does mention some shows and/or channels only allow specific number of downloads at a time. See the section "Limits for downloads".
Reach back out if you still need help.
Take care!
i am not getting any errors or messages as to limits. i start them, say about 6 downloads for my trip. then later on a look at them and they have the circle with the square in the middle. when i click that, the episode is removed from the downloads folder. then i have to go redownload them. isnt there any way to just resume the download??
edited to add i am only dowloading apple originals. schmigadoon, lessons in chemistry and morning show. none of them mention anything about limits? i am not sure where i would see that?
