Error occurs when trying to sync Apple Music library between iPhone and Mac

Hi!

I tried syncing my apple music library on my mac with the one from my iphone. I went into settings on mac and I checked the sync library option, did many restarts, tried it in safe mode but nothing worked.

Is there any fix to this?

Sorry for the late reply. To clarify, I signed out on my Mac entirely, changed password, signed back in on the Mac in System Settings.

I had tried signing out and back in previously, but didn’t change password, and the problem persisted. Only when I changed the password whilst signed out did it fix my problem.

PeterChime, thanks for the update. I am concerned that this issue appears to have been around since October and most of us have not received an acknowledgement of a known issue from Apple Support, nor has the Apple System Status page been updated with this issue. Let’s hope they are taking this seriously and addressing it as a matter of urgency.

Same problem here. Apple Music on my Iphone13 (latest iOS 17.2.1) and new Macbook pro 14 (latest Sonoma 14.2.1) can't sync, I even lost all downloaded music on Iphone. On https://music.apple.com/ my library is still here. I've tried all possible solutions which I can try and nothing has worked. On my second Mac Air M2 (latest Sonoma 14.2.1) my library was fine, so I tried sync it with my Iphone via Finder and it wasn't work. So to check if it will lost on last working Mac after signing out my AppleID I signed out and after sign in it have lost either. So for now I have 2 Macs and Iphone, and in no one of these devices I can't see my library. Web Apple Music library is still ok but I can only listen to previews, for full songs it keep sending me to Apple Music App.

Hi,

Same issue here.

Had sync issues on my iPhone for the past 1-2 weeks where recently added songs kept disapearing after few minutes.

This morning, all my library was gone on my iPhone (Web player Apple Music & Apple TV still have all my collection tho) and I kept getting the error 18004 every time I tried disabling/enabling Sync.....

I face this problem now too on my PC with the latest W11 Apple Music's app....

The issue now appears to be fixed for me - my library is syncing across devices again. I did not do anything on my side when syncing resumed so I assume the matter was fixed on the server side by Apple’s engineers. I can also add new music and download music again. If Apple was aware of the issue, it would really have been helpful if they had updated their System Status page, which I checked regularly.

Same here.

All I want is my music app to function properly and even in 2024, I can't have that. I got the same error in early December but it fixed itself and not it's back to not syncing again. I hate constantly having to go on forums. Spotify is no better and I don't want to switch as their Apple Watch app is a disaster. Come on Apple, please fix your stuff, please.

Why Are My Apple Music Songs Not Showing Up on My iPhone?

Hello,

I have a lot of songs on Apple Music website and on my MacBook, but they're not on my iPhone with the current iOS version.

Similarly, I tried the following solutions, but none of them worked:

Change the music in your library or playlist, turn on or off the sync library, reset network settings, and log out and back into Apple Music on your iPhone.

I'm confused. Is anyone aware of what is wrong? How can I sync my tunes across all of my devices?

I would appreciate any assistance or suggestions.

It’s mind boggling to see that the issue is not consistent across users. While my Mac’s library is still gone / not syncing, the one on my iPhone is still working like a charm (including the option to add new music to the library). From the looks of it in this thread, there’s only a handful of users that are as lucky as I am.

I’m sure a solution for all is imminent, hang on in there.
