Iphone 15 lock screen delay ( wake up ) IOS 17.1 problem

My phone suddenly stopped doing this and i have not force restarted last 3 days cause i think i found the issue. Apple still need to fix it ,but i found strange interaction between whats on your lock screen and this issue. I change new wallpaper pretty often and when i am not using dept effect it fixes it for good. Try to set new wallpaper even if its the same without dept effect from lock screen. I switched dept effect off and i dont have this issue. If i now try to have a wallpaper with dept effect issue reappears.

I figured it out.

its the double click side button feature when you use apple pay and just go to settings>wallet&apple pay then turn off the double click side button this fixed it for me on my iphone 15 pro max.

The lag is due to Always On Display feature. If you have Always On Display setting set to ON and have Show Wallpaper, you will notice this lag when you tap to unlock or raise your phone to unlock. Go to Display & Brightness under settings, select Always On Display and Toggle Show Wallpaper to Off. It also has other customization like Show Notifications. You can keep it On but Turning Off Show Wallpaper had definitely made the change for me.

Yes, I agree. But don’t do normal restart (switch off/switch on). Please do force restart. Follow the below steps

• press and release volume up
• press and release volume down
• long press and hold power button until your display turns on with apple logo

I did this 3 days ago. Works fine till now.

I had the same problem. if you push volume up, volume down and then hold the power button until you see the apple logo it will restart. This fixed my phone.

Mine’s delay problems got fixed when I switched to other wallpaper and it hasn’t returned since then. I recommend you guys just to switch between wallpapers instead of constantly restarting your phones.

I had the same problem today. Double tap, power button and turning the phone upside (which all turn the screen on) were taking 1-2 sec before turning it on. I have iPhone 15 Pro Max with iOS 17.1.1. When I restarted the iPhone now it's working properly but let's see if it will stay that way...

YES!!! I am also facing same issue. Force restarting device will be the best solution. If it reappears, we have to restart again and wait until Apple fix it with next update.

Friends, I solved the problem by just updating all the apps in the appstore. It's been 2 days and it hasn't failed again.

Turn off Double Click Side Button in Apple Pay. Its helped me.

we need to force restart. And to do it in 15 pro.

1. hold and release volume up button.
2. hold and release volume down button
3. press power button till you see apple logo.

I think so same with me. I have keep force restart.

one thing i have done and its working so far. I switched OFF focus. Till now no issues. But yes apple need to fix this bug

i have the same issue!! i thought i had a defective phone. force restart or regular turn off/on fixes it for a limited amount of time

To get rid of, click on “Set as Current” option to any other set of wallpaper and later revert back to original. Doing this will help you in temporarily fixing late response on tap (or) click issue.
