IOS 17.1 Apple Music stops after a couple of songs on 6th Gen iPad

After upgrade to iOS 17.1, Apple Music freezes and stops. I’ve tried streaming and downloading, different Wi-Fi and I’ve just restored to factory with basic setup, no transfer, straight into music and it does the same. iPad 6th generation. Everything else works, it’s just music. Subscriber to Apple Music. Anyone else seeing this or have suggestions please?

17.2 has fixed this (utterly annoying) issue.

I'm quite dissatisfied with my recent experience with Apple. After spending hours on the phone and in chat with them, my iPad ended up stuck in restore mode. Their solution was for me to visit an Apple Store for a fix. When I did, they had to revert to the previous operating system. The staff member was terrific with getting it back up and running, so I cannot blame him.


However, with a recent update, I find myself facing the same issue again. To be honest, it's incredibly frustrating, and it's making me consider dropping Apple Music.

I'm having the same problem everyone else is having in this thread with my 7th gen ipad


every time I’ve ever called apple support they try to help but they trouble shoot me like I’m a 10 year old

I end up fixing it on my own


they constantly move things around in every update like the grocery store does and

Are making things so complicated

been using iOS since iPhones first launched a decade ago

I have just downloaded 17.1.1 stupidly hoping the problem would be resolved!!!! Nothing has changed with the running ( or should I say non running of Apple Music). This really is ridiculous… the music app continues with all the problems listed in this community discussion… no change.

i have been a staunch Apple customer since first generation Apple TV and iPhone 5. I own 9 Apple products purchased because of the Apple eco-system and the quality of their products. I am now a disenchanted customer who in the past has heavily relied upon and supported Apple products. This latest problem with Apple Music and its inability to run on IPads gen 6 and above leaves a sour taste. Apple prides itself on satisfying its customers… well in this case it has failed. This is very poor Apple.

i hope this is read and understood by the manufacturer and developer but my suspicion is its is not and nor does Apple care!!!
