IOS 17.1 Apple Music stops after a couple of songs on 6th Gen iPad

After upgrade to iOS 17.1, Apple Music freezes and stops. I’ve tried streaming and downloading, different Wi-Fi and I’ve just restored to factory with basic setup, no transfer, straight into music and it does the same. iPad 6th generation. Everything else works, it’s just music. Subscriber to Apple Music. Anyone else seeing this or have suggestions please?

17.2 has fixed this (utterly annoying) issue.

iPad Gen 7. Same problem. Absolutely sucks. I think the problem started after the 17.1 updated. iPhone still works fine. Everything was working just fine before that. I wasted over 3 hours fiddling with settings, resets, clean up, re-installs etc. assuming that the problem was mine. Thank god I found this discussion or I would have gone crazy. I hope this is not another sneak attack to force us old-timers to buy a "new" iPad model.


I guess we can't do anything but twiddle our toes until the next iOS update drops and our problems magically disappear.

Ditto here. 6th gen Ipad; updated to V 17.1.1 and now my music is unusable. When I'm lucky, it will see my music library, but will stop after a song or two. In most cases, though, it just doesn't see any music content at all. (Not an Apple music subscriber.) I finally found this forum only to discover that the issue hasn't been solved. Like everyone else here, I count on being able to use the music app, as I've done FOR A LONG TIME, and I'm frustrated at suddenly not having it. I paid for every song I have, and they're suddenly unavailable. That's a bad business model. You guys are computer engineers. Figure it out and fix it.

I want to know if the problem doesn’t get fix should we be getting charged for our subscription?

we are all having the same issue with this it work fine before and now it’s doesn’t even want to start or it doesn’t play after one song. I have deleted the app and restarted my iPad and reinstalled the app and it still does it. If the problem doesn’t get resolved I think we should get a refund on our month subscription.
