I have updated my mac to Sonoma 14, but now get error messages when trying to do payroll for my business using HMRC Basic Paye Tools. Is anyone else having the same problem.
iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.15
Basic PAYE Tools repeatedly crashed when I tried submitting RTI data having installed HMRC's January 2024 update. I found that submitting individual employee data one piece at a time rather than as a batch overcame the problem. This was on Sonoma 14.1. I didn't have to reinstall Ventura.

Hi Shawn - how did you fix it. I amn't on Sonoma but I am still having problems on Monterey and I can't even open Basic PAYE tools. Please could you help me?
I am still using Ventura but BPT won't open me. I just get the Problem report saying it quit unexpectedly and "reopen" doesn't work. Help please!
Was sending submissions, now crashing. Tried all suggestions. Using PAYE tools with Mac os Ventura latest update. Any ideas or workarounds appreciated.
I am currently talking to the tech people at HMRC because since installing the latest update and restarting my MacBook Air (M1 chip) I cannot get into HMRC tools at all - it keeps crashing.

I literally just kept trying and trying. I did try once to load in Chrome rather than firefox as someone suggested and although it didn't work... when I went back to trying on Firefox - Bingo!.. it just worked.
I found that once i updated my macbook to the latest version of the iOS system basic tools worked fine for me so i think hmrc have updated basic tools so that it works for mac again. But i had to update to the latest operating system first. If you check hmrcs website they list the operating systems that they support. So I'm hoping this problem is now in the past - and i think i used chrome as badic tools work using your browser now. Good luck!
