Phone cracking due to Apple charger

Recently, my phone was using the Apple charger that was given through the iPhone purchase. However, the charger over-heated my phone screen and now there are cracks across my entire screen. Additionally, it now has burgundy streaks and blots all across the screen, minimizing what I can see. Is Apple responsible for the cracks because its products caused it?

iPhones have an internal temperature sensor that will shut down the phone completely and stop charging if its temperature exceeds 35ºC (95ºF) and the screen will display a message saying it cannot be used until it cools off. And the phone is rated to be safe up to 113ºF (and probably higher, but that is its powered-off storage rating).

If you think this protection mechanism did not work you can try visiting a genius bar or contacting Apple Support, but I’m sure they will tell you the same thing I posted. The can view the diagnostic logs and see what temperature was recorded by the phone. No harm in trying, however.
