Apple TV 4K Remote Battery dramatically draining

Okay, so something weird just happened. Way before the latest new software update. the Remote's battery life was well very good, I didn't need to recharge it every now and then. And then.... for some reason, after this update tvOS 17.1., the battery drained soooo much. and I'm not even using it. I only used it to navigate to an app and start watching my shows and movies from there. But why is it draining battery so dramatically compared to the previous firmware? Like what's the heck? Does anyone else have the same issue? Found a solution? please share. thank you!

Is there a fix? It’s happening to me too. I charged it to full. And barely used it. It just drains on its own and will be dead the very next day.

I got this issue also this week.

I checked with my phone camera if the remote is sending continuously signals through the black band on front of the remote. And the remote was continuously sending IR signals.

I used the restart procedure described HERE.

After restarting the remote everything came back to normal.

PS: this issue also caused an issue with my Vizio soundbar. When I was changing the volume from the Vizio soundbar remote, the signal from the apple tv remote kept raising the volume to the max. After the Apple remote restart, the issue was solved.
