Red audio symbol in iMessage text box

I don’t have the microphone either

After trying everything . I read a few different sites and found the answer to getting rid of the red recording and going back to the microphone in text. I went to general, keyboards, and noticed my "one handed keyboard" was off, I chose Right and the microphone came back inside the text box on the right side. YEAH!!!

There is a red audio icon where the microphone icon should be on one of my contacts. How can I remove it and get the microphone back

Did you happen to follow the steps others have posted by clicking the microphone on the bottom?

If no microphone I did make a comment earlier:

If you don’t see the microphone icon on the bottom right, go to Settings > General > Keyboard and turn on “Enable Dictation”. In fact just turning on Dictation alone may get rid of the red audio symbol.

When you tap the text box as if you are about to text a message, the standard microphone icon shows at the very bottom right corner. After tapping the microphone as if you’re about to leave a voice text, it replaces the red audio symbol. Just exit out as normal.

I didn’t work for me it’s in all of my text messages my phone is in a wallet case it has recorded me and sent messages I didn’t want sent!! I hate this iPhone and before anyone calls me out I didn’t want it didn’t purchase it. Nothing but an expensive nightmare!

Hold your finger on the screen for a second as if you’re about to send a text message …

on the bottom right side

a microphone will appear

click that mic

then exit out of the text message (as if your done swiping up to close out your apps )

after u exit out it should go away!

I have an iPhone 15 and it’s annoying me soooo much with the red dots for audio in my messages bar- I always accidently hit it as I close my phone and it starts recording!!!! I don’t want any audio there- no microphone and no audio red lines. Please- how do I make them both go away!!!!!!

Can you please tell me where the microphone icon is in the screen shot above The issue is the microphone icon changed in to the waveform icon and now it assumes I want to use voice to txt this person every time! Makes me want to throw the iPhone and iOS 17 out the window!!!

FIX THIS APPLE OR AT LEAST DON'T ENABLE OR TURN ON NEW TECHOLOGIES WITHOUT ALLOWING AN EASY WAY TO DISABLE!!!

Any idea what it is? Or what it means?

I have the same symbol that I can’t get rid of, I don’t have a microphone symbol on or below my keyboard. So what do I do
