Is it possible for the Do Not Disturb Focus to activate silent mode automatically? I have some contacts that I want to be able to reach me when I have do no disturb on. However, I ideally want these notifications to be silent. It does not seem like this is an option. The only thing you can do is allow or disallow contacts for being let through, not whether or not you want these contact’s notifications to make noise.

No. This is not a feature of iOS, as of yet. It is pretty specific. So, recommend it to Apple...
Recommending this to Apple:
Do your Part: No. As of this date, there is not a downtime feature, so request it to Apple. Apple may not get back to your directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more the will know what their customers prefer,and what features to include in iOS versions to come.

Have you tried the Shortcuts app from Apple?
