iPhone 15 Pro Max not charging

Hi, I have recently purchased an IPhone 15 Pro Max and have been using it for the last week. Yesterday I plugged it in to charge using the Apple provided USB-C charging cable and it would not charge.

Fortunately I can still charge using a wireless charger but ideally I’d like to know if anyone else was experiencing this issue?

And if so how did they fix it😕

Iphone was purchased brand new from the Apple Store and I have not dropped it, damaged it at all in the week or so I’ve owned it, very disappointed something so new has stopped working so soon.

**update**

although some time ago now I did take the IPhone 15 Pro Max to the Apple Store and they actually informed me that this is becoming a common issue. There was nothing they could do to fix it so gave me a new phone as a replacement.

It seems to be some sort of manufacturing error

I got my 15 Pro Max in October and it started not charging from USB-C port with any cable configuration but would charge from to USB port with any cable configuration just fine. I got a replacement phone and the new one is doing the exact same thing! Seeing as how the cables are not the issue and that it’s when the current is coming from a USB-C port; It has to be an issue with the written code in the phones format that tells the phone what to do when the current is delivered from a certain configuration.

Got my iphone 15 pro max a couple weeks after it came out. recently have started to have the issue where when my phone is down to -5% when plugged in it will not charge. Tried restarting the phone and using other cords and eventually the charging will start after switching the phone on and off and switching between cords but it’s a hassle. Apple please fix this.

Same here. Month old i15 Pro Max just stopped charging with the factory cord and wirelessly. Powering on and off a few times, but when I unplugged the charging cable and then plugged it back in,m it stopped charging again. This has to be a hardware issue to not charge on either the mag charger or with the cord. If it happens again, I'll be back at Apple for a new phone.

I had to use the warranty and since I don’t have an Apple Store, I had to bring it to Best Buy where it took them a month to try to order a part and decided that they don’t know how to fix it. They sent me a replacement, and I am having charging issues with that as well. It says that the accessory that I bought on the Apple website is not compatible too much power. I have to unplug it and plug it back in several times to get it to work. I am considering returning the replacement

Hi , I have the same issue and I’ve ordered directly through Apple Store brand new iPhone 15 pro Max , 2 TB , paid it and keep it safe , I didn’t get the Apple care since I take care of it but it does have manufacturer warranty and I went to Apple Store but charging just doesn’t work and they can only do repair or try to do it but your phone is open and busted after that so they told me to call Apple support which I did and I waited for a while and they just told me I have limited warranty and they won’t replace my phone . I asked for someone else on the phone , said it’s problem with the phone - I need a replacement since I have 1 year warranty. They told me to ship it to them to repair it . So I’m going to be without a phone and God knows when to get it back ? Something I got brand new and almost $2000 ?? I’ve complained and They hang up on me.

what is going on with Apple ??

anyone had similar experience?

Just putting my 2 pence in.

so I got the 15 pro max in February, about 3 weeks went by and from out of nowhere it wouldn’t accept charge from any combination of leads, plugs, power banks. I had to purchase a MagSafe charger to be able to charge my phone at all. Took it into Apple. They told me it was a software issue, reset the phone and it worked for one evening… went back to apple they told me it was a mid section problem with the phone, waited 3 hours for them to change it, got the phone back and it worked!!! Amazing!!

so I thought… 2 weeks later.. same problem. Took it back to apple again, “software issue” reset the phone and reinstall the software in store.. fixed it for one night…

took it back the next day with the original lead and apple plug (more to prove my point) faulty lead and plug diagnosed so sent me home with a new one that worked in the store… took it home, perfectly working.. the following night it hadn’t charged properly again! Took it back to apple the next day they told me it could be an issue with the wireless charging section of the phone.. wasn’t convinced but they changed that, changed the mid section on my phone again and that seemed to work for 2/3 more weeks. Obviously thought that was it! Happy days!

Now I went to Disneyland Paris with my partner a week ago and I like to film stuff on my phone, the battery life on this phone is no joke but it did need topping up in the mid afternoon, guess what… it stopped taking charge again… this time it wouldn’t even take the MagSafe charger!! Honestly I’m at such a loose end with this, I’ve confirmed a tonne of leads that are working with plugs and other devices so I’m very confident it’s nothing external causing this.

the Apple Store isn’t exactly 5 minutes down the road from me either.. coming from a Samsung I felt like this was the right move but when you’ve got a powerhouse of a phone that won’t even charge properly what’s the actual point! Extremely disappointed with apple for having the issues they’re having with this and not shedding more light on it.

any help from others would be really appreciated

I am having the same issue with my iPhone 15 Pro Max. This was bought directly from Apple in the last couple of months it has been in a protective case, never been dropped or damaged whatsoever.

In the last week when I plugged in my certified charger, it would not charge. I thought there was something wrong with the charger so then I plugged the same Charger into my other usb c product (Bluetooth speaker) this charged up with no problem what so ever. The same thing has happened again when I plugged in the charger the phone does not charge, there is nothing wrong with the charger or the power supply anyway its simply the iPhone 15 Pro Max not charging it seems to have a mind of its own in regards to charging the battery health is 100% has always been maintained in the most appropriate way I am very disappointed to say the least this is meant to be a flagship model and I was left without the use of this for many hours due to the charging issue very very disappointed.

I have this issue also. My phone seems to charge when it wants to. I threw away my apple plug thinking it was broke, and purchased an Anker plug and cable. That worked for a bit, and then it didn’t. I’ve had to use various cables at work to get my phone to charge, some work, some don’t lol

It charges wirelessly absolutely fine, but I haven’t got a wireless charger with me all the time! I’ve only had my phone 3 months. Really disappointed, and if they don’t sort this issue shortly, I will revert back to Android. Not impressed, but there is certainly a software issue of some kind. I did have a message flash up too regarding attached accessory, didn’t catch the whole message though. It’s only been fairly recent so I reckon it’s got to be due to one of their updates.

Hello, I have a new twist on this. I bought a brand new iPhone 15 Max Pro back in Nov 23’ Usually use a MagSafe charger. Started using a cable and the connector keeps popping out with any movement of the phone. It’s bizarre! Have tried multiple cables with same result so it’s definitely the phone. How this basic stuff isn’t tested before the release of a new product is baffling. Assume this means a trip to a store for a replacement? C’mon Apple… this is bad design!

Same - I just bought/upgraded from iPhone 13 Pro Max to the iPhone 15 Pro Max and stopped charging.

Terrible timing as I have surgery in two days and rely on my phone for communication with doctors, the health apps, and Uber/Lyft for post surgery transportation and all the essential basics way too lenghty to list here.

Disturbing and disgusting that Apple is aware of this 'Known Issue" and has no remedies and consumers consume vast amounts of time returning, exchanging, setting up multiple times, adding passwords back to apps. etc. etc.

Apple you can do a whole helluva a lot better than this!
