It will pair and show as connected, and the battery widget says it’s fully charged, but it doesn’t interact with my 2nd gen iPad Pro 12.9”. Does anyone know of a way to force a firmware update? My iPad is running iOS 17.2 and pencil running 1.0.4… HELP!

Yea my first gen pencil is having frequent disconnects with my 10th gen iPad . I have a similar problem where the pencil is charged and connected. I unpair my pencil and then repair and the pencil will work until I close the window I was drawing on. I have done a restart of my iPad and that didn't fix the issue. I changed the nib out as well. iPadOS is 16.7.1.

I have the same issue. I just bought brand new Apple pencil 1st gen and pair it to my 1st gen iPad Pro. Widget says battery is 100% charged but the pencil can't work. I'm on iPadOS 16.7.2 and apple Pencil is on firmware version 1.0.4. How to update this thing? I keep it plugged on the iPad but sometimes it's disconnect itself. This is frustrating!
