Volume Buttons Not Working on iPhone

Iphone 15 pro max, 17.1.1 here, having issues too. Whatsapp, Spotify etc.. Volume button randomly doesnt work :(

Same here. WhatsApp and Regular calls. iPhone 14 Pro.

Since updating to iOS 17 the volume and silent switch don't work anymore, on 4 iPhones we have are affected it's an iPhone14 Pro Max, 13 Pro Max, 12 Pro and Xs Max. This needs to be fixed.

I can't control volume of TikTok through volume controls. I'm connected to Bluetooth. Going to Spotify to change the volume then going back to TikTok worked though.

Update, had to get a replacement phone. New phone works fine. For some reason my volume up button stopped working altogether and it was not due to phone system, just simply mechanical I guess.

Same over here with my iPhone 15 pro is less than a week old. And volume buttons randomly stop working. I have to adjust it through control center as well. Glad I’m not the only one experiencing the issue! But we need it fixed!!!

I am having the same issue. I also tried updating to 17.1.1 and when I checked “Change with Buttons” it weirdly was turned off, BUT turning that on did not fix the issue. I am able to restart my phone with the side buttons so I think that the buttons are not damaged. If I find a fix, I will come back here to post.

Same is happening with me. I just got my IPhone 15 Pro Max and every time I have a call or voice message on WhatsApp and try to turn the volume up it simply doesn’t work. And if I don’t close whatsapp before locking the screen the buttons won’t work on the lock screen either. Need a fix asap

Same issue for me using the 13 pro max on ios17. During regular calls or video calls it’s not letting me adjust my volume at all. Sometimes videos using IG or facebook are also affected. I’ve restarted my phone at least 4 times so far, it’s annoying now!

Happened to me today volume down and up not working. Pressing Action button makes it work for few seconds then happens again. Then I restarted the phone now it seems like it’s working fine.

could be that I keep taking off my tight fitted finewoven case every few days.

just hope it doesn’t happen again.

never had this problem with my iPhone 14 Pro Max. Maybe silicone case was easy to take off on my iPhone 14 Pro Max.

It’s terrible, i have the issue using the 15 pro max on ios17.1.1 On video calls it’s not letting me adjust my volume at all. Other apps happens too, for example playing a video on WhatsApp !! Sometimes I can’t hear it. I’ve restarted my phone several times keeps happening, it bothers a lot, help Apple

My upper volume is not working at all. Only way to adjust the volume up is to press on the lower volume button and then slide my finger up to increase the volume. I have done everything to fix it, still not working even with the last 17 update. I have an iPhone 15 pro max.

My max pro 15 is 2 days old. The top volume button worked yesterday now it doesn’t. I am somewhat lost on this phone. I didn’t want to give up my 6+ but I was forced to but it was so much easier to use than this one.

Hello, has anyone figured this out? IPhone 15 pro Max, happened since day one. At first I thought it only did it with do not disturb on but now that's not the case. Snapchat has been my biggest issue app. But that's only because it's my most used app. This is not a hardware issue, it's not a case issue, I didn't even have a case for a while, this is a software issue.

loud and soft volume buttons on the left side of my phone work, but the one above it the top one,the small one that turns the the sound on and off doesn’t seem to be doing anything that I can see. When I first got the phone and I pressed on it, the little spot right on top of the phone, a little rounded black place,would let me know that the ringer was on and off, but that doesn’t seem to show me anything now. On top left-hand side next to the time there is a little sound what looks like a bell with a line over it. I assume that means the sound is off although I know it’s not off it works so I’m not sure what all this is. I knew when I finally got a new phone that life was going to be more difficult. Too many choices to begin with and Explanations that don’t make sense to me or I can’t follow etc. etc..
