Volume Buttons Not Working iPhone 15 Pro iOS 17.1

In my case, I just got the 15plus last week and I’m not able to turn the volume down! I restarted it like 20 times and still. HELP

I’ve solved the problem by disabling the remote control function while connected to WiFi. Fast resolve = turn on airplane mode.

Otherwise hold down in control center on “now playing” then select “iPhone” and the buttons work.

I ultimately had to make an appointment at the Apple Store to have my phone worked on. They ordered a part, however when they went to put the phone back together, the back glass shattered and I had to get a whole new phone. On top of that, the sync we had done didn’t take, so I walked out with a bare new phone, totally a terrible experience all around.

Been scavenging the whole internet for a month to resolve my volume button issue. Fortunately it's been solved. Let me give you some context.

Around a month ago, my upper volume button on my (at that time) three month-old iPhone 15 Pro Max started to not respond. I thought it was a software issue, so, naturally, I tried downloading the latest software updates, but to no avail.

So last weekend I went to the Apple Store where I purchased the device from, and after running some diagnostics, the employee told me there were two options - either completely resetting it, or having it repaired. I decided for the latter one, as only the front and back glasses and camera system would not be replaced - everything else (battery, hardware, etc.) would be brand new.

The whole operation took only 1,5 hours and was completely covered by warranty. The repair costs were upwards of EUR 700. The issue was due to a production fault.

Very satisfied with the service. So, if you're also experiencing the same volume button issue, go to the Apple Store and they'll fix it.

Update, had to get a replacement phone. New phone works fine. For some reason my volume up button stopped working altogether and it was not due to phone system, just simply mechanical I guess.

How did you fixed the problem in the end? I have the same issue with the upler volume button.

I’m having same issue. Both volume buttons randomly stop working. Very annoying on a 1200$ phone. I’m under warranty still so maybe I just take it back.

Fine is working fine now.

Volume buttons stop working with ESR silicone case with kickstand but restarting phone solve the problem. I gave back the 3rd party case and I’m using Apple Original silicone case which works perfectly fine.

Please don’t tell me Apple is following down the same path as you tube and google. Both practically useless these days. Destroy your own product All in the name of nothing? Why? Thank God better things will be available soon. No product is invincible. Not even Apple.

What you should have done was dealt with it during the 14-day return period. But, as that ship has sailed, contact Apple to arrange for warranty services:

The volume controls on various newer iPhones are a mess. Why hasn’t Apple provided a fix?

Even when I turned off the buttons option, with the volume all the way up, I cannot hear the phone ring in the other room!! Lot of money for a disappointment!
