iOS 17.1 Battery drain

I think any of us here is asking why we all experience such a bad battery drain after iOS 17.1.

i made the update yesterday and had to recharge twice in 4 hours.

it is said that the background activities after update are demanding ones but that’s not the whole truth.

during the night I recharged my iPhone 15 PRO Max and never really reached 100% because of a really poor battery management and process handling by the system.

now trying to turn off the “always on” screen feature see what’s happen.

if anyone at Apple is reading please solve this because the issue is really affecting bad the life of iPhone users…. And it never happened such a bad thing from you so I am quite surprised there’s no way to find a quick solution.

OK Guys, after installing 17.1.1 my iPhone 15 pro works as it should. After two hours of listening YouTube with the screen off there was no heat, not even warm and the battery was also normal; 9% was gone after these two hours of listening. After 17.1 just 5-10 minutes of listening was enough to make it hot. Should be ok now.

how's the battery so far after upgrading to IOS 17.2, I just updated my phone today and the battery seems a bit better. how is yours doing?

I’m not sure yet. Updated to 17.2 last night too. Did drain fast post upgrade. I restarted the phone. I guess will give it a few days to actually notice a difference

I have the have the iPhone 13 and Apple Watch Series 6. They’re BOTH losing charge after 5 hours since iPhone update!!!?

17.1.2 … all the apps are up to date and it’s still draining on me. I went from 100% this morning down to 50% without even using it (much)

Has Apple even acknowledged it?

Hi! I have a 12 mini, ios 17.2.1 and same issue: too hot and battery drains too fast.

@apple please sort it!

17.2.1 is very power consuming.everyday need charge the phone.when sleep no use 8hours drop 4% battery power.

Hopefully the ACCC. These updates always seem to happen when there is a slower uptake on upgrades to a newer phone. Funny about that.

On 17.2.1 and still the battery problem remains. Apple says we cannot downgrade. Well, you are doing it for us it seems. Higher ios less quality 😔

Agree. I upgraded my 12 to v17 and noticed 6hr drop in usability. On 17.2.1 I listened to 1hr of music on Spotify and had an 18% drop. Not usable. Apple needs to resolve this problem.
