My iphone 15 won't scan QR codes

I have tried holding the iphone very close to the screen and at progressive distances to 2 or 3 feet away. nothing works for me.

Do you have a an area full of bar codes you're trying to read one of?

Im seeing problem as well but no response from apple!

I am having the exact problem, ever since I got the iPhone 15. Never had an issue with past IPhones. I wish I never upgraded.

After upgrading to 17.4 all works fine. Please note I was not referring to external scanning apps but to a native Apple photo camera which shall scan square codes to open web sites.

I saw the apple guy use the phone to do it with qr scanner and it did go into macro mode when it went closer.... so not strictly true

My iPhone 13 won’t scan QR code since the iOS 17. The Code Scanner in Ctrl Center fails to focus, remains blurry. This is definitely a bug with camera focus.

My new iPhone 15 cannot scan the QR code of the RSA SecurID Authenticator application, the QR scan code of Iphoen read it but the app can't.

There's no defect here.

Codes scan perfectly when in focus.

Code reading apps can read the code perfectly, you don't need to get close to the code as you are doing when you cause the Camera app to switch to macro mode.

The switch to macro mode is being performed by the Camera app because it doesn't know you are trying to focus on a code, just something too close for the normal lens as if you were taking a photo of it.

There's zero need for a code reader app to do that.

That's because there's nothing to fix.

If the camera can focus on the code, it's read instantly, every time.

If you hold the phone too close for it to be able to focus on the code, it will never work.
