MacBook Pro Monterey 12.7.1, since this update...I cannot add bookmarks to Safari. Do I need to visit the Genius bar?

I was able to connect with Apple support via chat and after lengthy trial and error...they had me set up a "test" account/profile and run in "safe mode", and the try to "add bookmark". It worked as designed. So they had me reinstall the OS and try to add a bookmark in my account/profile and that corrected the problem.
