Internet speed slow down after IOS 17.1 update

I rarely use WiFi, but it is still slowing down my iphone 14. I have to go to settings and turn off WiFi (even though I’m not using it) to be able to do anything online. Then when I shut it off, it says “turning off WiFi until tomorrow”. But a few hours later WiFi will turn itself back on and aI will be lagging again. Beyond frustrating!

I’ve the 13 pro as well, doing exactly the same why haven’t Apple sorted this software problem I want to take my software back before updating to the latest update.

It has slowed down the phone dramatically. What are you doing about it?

This will be my last Apple mobile device, switched to Samsung phone, soon Samsung tablet and still have a MacBook, I am sure they will screw it up soon so will be back to the dreaded PC. These canned BS answers are ridiculous and only make Apple look worse then they already are.

Only wanted to note that on 17.2.1, while I can run a speed test and am doing fine, I'm getting super lagged push notifications and app updates. E.g. texts from the past several hours at the same time as a flood of ring notifications, amazon notifications, etc. Am on a 15 pro.

Same here. Iphone 12 WiFi is miserably slow after updating. All of my other devices are in the rage of 1gig up and down which is my ISP speed, but my Iphone is about 20 up and 10 down. I've never seen any other device that has slower download speed than upload speed. Please fix this issue!

im having the same internet issues on my phone and i tried doing that, but apparently you only get the private relay option if you have an icloud subscription and i don’t. this thing is rly annoying me lol i just want my internet to work

After updating ios 17.1 on iPhone 13 system get slow down when I connect with WiFi where as it’s 5g network with 150 mbps speed and when I connect to mobile internet it’s works fine what is the issue I tried forgot network reset network setting even restarting phone and so on still issue is there

Not op, but have been having the same issue. I did all these steps, but to no avail. My network works on other devices (I.e. my desktop, laptop, and tablet) at full speed (500mbps fiber) meanwhile my iPhone is sitting around ~30mbps. Are there any other more advanced options available?

Still experiencing this in iPhone 15 Pro Max running 17.5.1

WiFi renders the device unusable sometimes. It does not happen on any other device, including a MacBook.

For reference, a speed test below. Again, this DOES NOT happen in any of my other devices (MacBook, Linux and Android).

I'm using iPhone 11 which also encountering the same issue for network speed decrease.

My network provider can support maximum 42Mbps but down to 4Mbps for maximum now.

the current ios is 17.5.1. May i have to know how to tackle this issue

Agree, same thing is happening to me with my iPhone 14 Pro Max. Since the update things are taking a really long time to play. Frustrating.

It was worth a try to check the private relay setting. But it was already turned off. Not causing my slowdown issues.

Hey thanks for the tip! I gave this a try and so far so good it seems to be working much better. Hopefully this doesn't mean that I'm open to more hacking or giving my information away now though.
