Why does the Apple Support Community site lists my MacOS as Ventura even after updating to Sonoma?

So, I just posted my first question a few hours ago. Strangely, I noticed that, although I "updated" my Mac to the latest OS yesterday morning, which requires internet connectivity, the Community system automatically listed my OS as still being Ventura -- presumably the version to which I upgraded to a few months ago at the Genius Bar. If my Sonoma upgrade was on-line via Apple yesterday morning, then why is my one and only Apple ID in Apple Community listing my OS as Ventura? Along with all the other signs of problems at the firmware level and elsewhere, this to me indicates a major problem. If I upgrade to a new OS via ethernet, with a particular machine connected to a specific serial number and Apple ID, all things Apple ID should automatically and immediately update to indicate that change. To me, this is just another sign I am being held digital hostage. Anybody else have any other ideas / comments about why this would be the case?

Welcome!

What shows in those automated equipment listings is supposed to be pulled from devices you have associated with your Apple ID. For me it works about half the time.

If you have more than one Apple ID, that trips up the system. If you have no devices listed, that trips up the system. And sometimes the system just trips itself. That has been a problem for a long time.

We are neither Apple nor forum moderators, but end users like you. We cannot fix this. We understand the mods are aware of this issue.

The sure workaround in the meantime is to include device info in the body of a question. Example:

"I have a Mid-2015 15-inch MacBook pro running macOS 12.7 and it started to....."

No confusion that way and you are assured that helpers here properly identify your device so you get answers appropriate to your Apple product. And we don't have to guess. We are not good at guessing!

Probably just a bug in the Community software or linkage to your device list.

You can always add your actual version in your post text if the shown is wrong.

Not sure why this would hold you hostage to anything in any way.

Perhaps you are being a bit melodramatic.

Reading your other post, sounds like a hardware issue with your Mac. You may wan to ship the Mac in to service for diagnostics and possible repair.

I am concerned viz a viz several problems mentioned in my other responses to comments in this thread, about digital usurpation.

Then that is beyond our ability to address here. We as your fellow end users have no control over Apple policies nor the moderation of these forums, and both topics are subjects on the "not permitted" items in the Terms of Use we all signed.

My devices are associated with my Apple ID. I only have one Apple ID. I am not concerned about responders in this forum having my correct information. I am concerned viz a viz several problems mentioned in my other responses to comments in this thread, about digital usurpation. I listed the necessary machine identifiers in my original question.
