You might not be getting notifications on your iPhone for a few reasons. Here are some of the most common causes:

  • Do Not Disturb mode is turned on. Do Not Disturb mode silences all notifications, so ensure it's turned off. You can do this by swiping down from the top of your screen and tapping the crescent moon icon.
  • You're in Focus mode. Focus modes are like the Do Not Disturb mode, but they can be customized to block notifications from specific apps or people. To check if you're in Focus mode, swipe down from the top of your screen and tap the Focus icon.
  • You've turned off notifications for a specific app. You can turn off notifications for individual apps in the Settings app. To do this, go to Settings > Notifications and scroll down to the app you want to change. Toggle the Allow Notifications switch to the off position.
  • Your iPhone is in Airplane mode. Airplane mode turns off all wireless connections, including cellular data and Wi-Fi. This means that you won't be able to receive notifications if your iPhone is in Airplane mode.
  • Your iPhone is not connected to the internet. If your iPhone is not connected to the internet, you won't be able to receive notifications from apps that need to connect to the internet to send notifications.

If you've checked all of these things and you're still not getting notifications, you can try restarting your iPhone. If that doesn't work, you can contact Apple support for help.

Have you enabled Scheduled Summary?

Settings > Notifications > [Select the App that you are having trouble receiving immediate notifications]

See the pic below for a few examples. Please select immediate delivery.

Go to Settings and tap Notifications. Select an app under Notification Style. Under Alerts, choose the alert style that you want. If you turn on Allow Notifications, choose when you want the notifications delivered — immediately or in the scheduled notification summary.

Use notifications on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

I just went through them again, changed sounds, checked haptics... the only thing I haven't done a reset on is my watch so I'll try that. I do have an iPad and iPad mini, but in the process of trying to figure out what's going on I've totally turned off messenger on them. I think my next thing is I have an apple store near me, I'll make an appointment and bring a kid with me with their phone to let them see what's up..

Appreciate the long time this took to put together but you’re dismissive or assume the user is the problem. I have an issue with that. Apple isn’t infallible and they make mistakes All of the time. I don’t really see how your response has anything to do with what was asked. Even the premise of “something changed” is flawed.

None of this is the issue. I agree with the other reply; You make this seem like user error.

I had an iphone 12 and around November when i updated my phone, everything started failing. My ear piece no longer worked so I had to either use speakerphone or airpods. I also stopped receiving text messages specifically. imessages came through fine, but text messages sent from androids would NOT notify me. I would have to manually check to see if the people I text with (versus imessage) has messaged me. I went ahead and purchased an iphone 14 plus thinking my iphone 12 was just dated. turns out, its still happening! The amount I spent on this phone is WILD. The fact that normal functions aren't working and Apple doesn't seem to care is truly disgusting.

Yeah I have searched and completed every suggestion and nothing has worked. I believe it is a software problem and not a simple fix. I have spoken to many others and many said they been having the exact same problem. Texts that don’t notify you. When someone makes a call some of the time the call goes through and some of the time you don’t even get a ring and the call is taken straight to voicemail. Don’t know what the issue is but my phone is necessary in my work so I hope there is a fix very soon.
