Airpod Pro 2 Firmware not Update Stuck at 5B58

Where did you buy the AirPods Pro 2's? I just bought a pair on eBay and had the same problem, I went to an Apple Store and the genius told me that they were counterfeit. I then bought a pair from Amazon and the firmware is up to date out of the box. Does your case show up in the firmware or is it just the AirPods Pro's? That will be your first clue to whether they are legit.

The counterfeit AirPod Pro 2 that I bought showed the serial number but not the case serial number. I took them to a local Apple Store and the genius told me they were not Apple product, counterfeit. She showed me her iPad with more than twenty service requests on the same serial number, all denied because they weren't Apple products.

Unfortunately, you cannot push AirPod updates. So, pair these to a device that is already connected to the Internet, and they will be updated automatically, sure enough. This is because AirPods are not assigned their own IP Address.

Assigning an IP Address to AirPods:

No. This not an option, This is because an AirPods’ method of connectivity is Bluetooth, just like that of a wireless mouse.

You’ve been scammed of your money, and that is absurd. Call Apple Support and ask them if there is a way to report this to them, rather than just talking in the phone. As to where you purchased this, If purchased online (ie ebay or Amazon), contact the site, seeing if the seller can be held accountable.
