iPhone keeps asking for Outlook password

I've tried all the solutions here except Edge. I'm not downloading another app to cover their bug. None have worked for me. They stop for a short time, then right back to every 5 minutes. Incredibly frustrating!!

I would agree with that, but MSFT has the option to remove passwords and the issue is still the same, and only after updating… Other MSFT services haven’t had issues (Xbox in my case).

I am having the same problem. I have 16.7.2 I have done everything but Edge and I would hope Apple would look t this community board and make a fix. This is definitely an Apple error. No issues with Oulook on HP computer.UGH

Are there any experts out there I think this Is a HACK, can anyone from apple confirm this??

the popup message asks to enter the password, and when you re enter (the saved) password you are typing in your password to an unknown APP ?? is this possible??

I have the same issue but don’t have the outlook app installed my phone. I wanted to make note of that just in case that’s helpful to know for those here that can solve problems with iPhones and are always sharing the solution here in discussions hope it help. Thank everyone!

I am having this issue on multiple devices, and have 5 outlook accounts doing this on both - doesn't matter if I re-enter the password, it loses it a few hours later. Has anyone actually officially reported this to Apple? Because there is clearly no "hack" or quick fix for this. I have tried every trick in this thread over the past week and none of them work.

This is exactly what happened with the search bar that keeps disappearing on Google. Apple refused to take responsibility for it even after I called them. Still hasn’t been fixed. They pointed their fingers at Google. But it was immediately after Apple’s update. I hope we get someone from Apple to address this Outlook issue. Once again, nothing has been done. Is this a hack?

I'm having the same issue but haven't updated to IOS 17.1.1 as of yet. This just recently started over the last week and the password constantly is asked to re-enter even though I've already entered. I've deleted and re-created the account, changed / updated the password, power reset my iPhone but still will NOT keep the password on iPhone. This doesn't seem to impact Outlook on any other devices (Windows) but only iPhone. Can you clarify why Apple Support believes this is a Microsoft issue? It seems like a connector issue with iPhone to Microsoft Outlook but not sure how that connection between Outlook and iPhone is established and maintained. Any thoughts?

Thanks but not sure what you mean by "recreate account using other option". I've deleted the account in iphone and recreated via the settings and still getting this issue multiple times per day. Is there another option/method that can be used? Thanks

I have the iPhone 15 Pro Max as well and not only does it keep asking for the email password, but it is also very hot when charging without a cover on...cord and wireless charging. Please fix this Apple. :)

Same issue here. Its the native IOS mail application.

When entering the password - the mail program redirects to outlook.com to log in, but never saves the credentials in the mail program.

Same problem here. It’s constant. I’ve deleted and added fresh. I’ve created new app passwords on Microsoft account. I’ve done every possible workaround that usually works. The failure rate is 100% for over 20 attempts and repeated attempts to solve issue.

This is a big problem for iPhone and is a new problem. I hope they fix it soon. The fact that my iPhone forgets my Oulook password when my Mac and other devices don’t is a major reason to give up on Apple. Please fix the problem.

There's no updated EULA or anything I can tell. Also this has been happening every morning since updating to IOS 17.1.1. I doubt MS is updating the EULA or terms every morning.

There's no way to manually enter the password into the mail app. As soon as I click on the update password field, it instantly takes me to an Outlook web site to log in. When I log on to Outlook, when I go back there - there's no option to update password - the link and field is gone in the native IOS mail app. My guess is they are storing an API key or something in lieu of a username/password. Its this function that is NOT working in IOS 17 latest update. I would hope Apple would be working on this.

As someone else suggested I will be testing manual setup. IMHO if I use manual setup - it should allow me to change the password any time I want.

My iPhone 13 with the 16.7 operating system was operating fine until last week. It now continually asks for the Microsoft Outlook Exchange password. I enter it and it keeps asking. In addition, now if I enter an appointment or contact on my iPhone, it no longer syncs and updates to Outlook. If I enter a new appointment or contact in Outlook, then it eventually updates to my iPhone as long as I keep entering the Outlook password multiple times. Strangely enough, email seems to be working OK in all of this other than always being asked for the Exchange password. I doubt this is a Microsoft issue. Apple - please respond and let us know what's going on and when to expect a fix
