iPhone keeps asking for Outlook password

Never mind, started happening again...Sorry

Finally resolved. Cleared out manual mail config which was temporarily working.

Re-registered with outlook.com and it is working reliably again. Never saw any checkbox for eula or agreement.

Yeah it’s not a Microsoft issue. All my other Apple iPhones and iPads with a lower version OS isn’t having the difficulties. No continuous recently requests, on those devices!

I even week to the web site and put in another password, and the issues persist with my iPhone 14 pro with the latest os.

In a much earlier post I placed this issue squarely at Apple's feet as it started with 17.1.1. for me. After reading these posts I decided to pull out my old iPhone 6s with iOS 15.8, same issue.

Funny thing, my wife has the 14 Pro, 17.1.1, outlook account, 2FA enable and she does not does not have any issues. I thought I would add that I authenticate through an authenticator app, not texting. Not sure about wife and she is out for the weekend.

An earlier poster mention MS has recently made changes to Outlook. Maybe something in these changes has brought this issue back to the surface. I say brought it back as the internet is littered with Apple / Outlook password threads going back years.

This is likely a timing coincidence. If you read through thread it is also happening on iOS 15 and 16.

Maybe they changed something in their infrastructure for 17.1.1 but it is happening on all recent iOS's. ( 15, 16 & 17)

I have the iphone 13 pro, currently running 16.6.1 and I'm having the same problem. My desk top is also logging me out every day too, don't know if the two are connected but both are irritating! Other than downloading the Edge app as recommended below, are there other solutions?

Yes I also have the exact same issue with outlook (Hotmail). I use the Authenticator app to log in.. but since the update to 17.1.1 I have to re-log in at least once per day. Or if you simply reboot my iPhone 15 Pro, it will magically start working again, with no action taken. Help!

If you navigate to support.apple.com there should be multiple options to get a hold of Apple.

Interesting that installing Edge helps. I imagine you also have to sign into Edge so your device gets logged with your Microsoft account.

A network reset did not work for me.

You find it in Settings > General > "Transfer or Reset Phone". One of the resets is reset network.

I have the Outlook Mail app on my phone. Logged into same account as one that is broken in iOS mail. It is logged in all the time. Still get messages. I tried the browser, keep me logged in, problem persists even with browser running in background.

This must be one strange problem as some people don't have the issue while others can use the workarounds in this thread to get by.

I have an iPhone 15 pro max with the same problem. I also have 2 Mac Studios. I seem to have this problem when my second Mac Studio is on. I have no idea why my iPhone would forget the outlook password.

I am having the same issue. It just started two days ago and I am on iOS 17.1. It's a pain since I have MFA on most of the mail accounts. Could this be a MS problem as I see different iOS with the same issue?

I will add that my phone is now not showing banners for any of my mail received in the iOS app. Plays the sound, just no banner. My mail banner was set to temporary so I tried Persistent.

Started after I powered down and restarted. Banners are enabled.

Anyone else notice this? Could just be I'm lucky.

It keeps doing this to me as well; it’s been going on for several weeks. I’ve probably re-entered my Outlook passwords at least 10 times. The workaround is to use the Outlook Mail app which of course I do not want to do because I like the native mail application on the iPhone.

Having the same issue. Did the same actions (delete, re-installed, etc) and same issue came back. This is happening on both our iPhones and iPads.

This is not happening on our laptops and PC running Windows 11.

Not sure if this was it, but I logged onto my Hotmail account via Safari, on the phone (should be a outlook.love.com or something similar). I logged in with my username and was presented with a ‘We have updated our EULA’ screen which I had to say that ‘I Agree’ and then typed my password and said ‘Remember this Device’.

I haven’t had any issues after that.
