iPhone keeps asking for Outlook password

You only need app password in iOS mail if you have 2FA enabled. At least that is what I found.

Thankfully mine just stopped asking. Of I had done some of the things listed in this thread but the requests just kept coming. One morning, think it was Tuesday, they stopped.

I updated to 17.3 this AM, immediately started getting password requests from my Outlook-Exchange account. As above I Entered Mail in apps, tapped on the account, retyped password, exited to Outlook account to see emails missed since iOS update.

Same here for the last few days with all my Outlook accounts. Thinking passwords out of date, changed all passwords to Apple complex ones now stored on password manager, thought it was MS changing login from login.live.com to account.login.live.com, added both in passwords, not this either, even prompted when mail going into settings, weird. Have re-added in email accounts, not that. Tempted to remove my outlook accounts and re-add but people have said that doesn’t work either. Have been abroad so checks I had connected to home country in vpn just in case it was a security issue not that. Have reported to Apple. Annoyingly if facial recognition fails (not looking) when prompted for passwd going into passwords store the whole thing stops and have to cancel the password prompt to enjoy it another time. Still waiting for an answer but 17.1.1 might have been the trigger for this or just that the upgrade happened. Don’t get me going on text editing “improvements” I can’t select any point in a word to position the cursor anymore without selecting a whole word or Linton g somewhere else and moving the pipe where I want it. Apple, sort it out please, basic features are degrading again!!

I deleted my @hotmail.com account that was asking for the password constantly since the last iPhone update and added it back again yesterday. Did not ask for password since. Either reinstalling it worked or Apple fixed it at the same time. No matter, I’m glad it works now. It was extremely irritating 😠. Fingers crossed; it’ll hold 😆

Same problem here. Had set up via exchange going back to my 11 plus. Deleted and traded, added as normal outlook with and had the same problem.

same problem here, I’m downgrading my ios to 7.1 do it while you still can, maybe is the ios 7.1.1 is broken

I’m having this issue on 17.0.3 with both iPhone 11 and iPad Pro 11 (3rd gen).

Very annoying.

It’s been happening to me as well. My best guess is that it has something to do with Microsoft rolling out the new Outlook

So just download the Edge app and sign in and do nothing else and it will fix the outlook mail issue in mail?

I am on 16.7.2 and it’s been happening to me for days now on my phone and iPad. So it’s not just 17.1.1

Not a Microsoft issue. It’s the Apple Mail app. Please fix

There were a lot of security updates in 17.1.1 so something is not handshaking with outlook settings. Apple and MS need to talk to get this sorted.

Did you check the email settings manually?

Delete and recreate using other option. Did this yesterday and have not had a problem since

It’s not a Microsoft problem because the problem also exists with gmail. I have the same problem with Hotmail and gmail accounts. The internet is full of people asking the same question for both.
