assistive access clock not active / Can I add Widget instead?

I'm trying to set up Assistive Access for my Mom's iPhone XR. Has iOS 17.

2 issues...

1) The clock is is dumb icon... not an accurate clock like normal Home Screen. WHAT??? Am I missing something?

2) Can I add Widgets... kind of similar issue. If I have Weather on the screen. It is again a dumb icon. To find basic temperature, She will have to touch the icon. This would be So Much Better if it were the Weather Widget. Is that possible yet?

Yes, exactly. Not showing the date is pretty close to a show-stopper for my grandma.

For someone who is really challenged to remember what the date is or what day of week it is, this is so critical.

And the calendar icon normally shows this correctly, but in Assistive Access all the app icons become static which is really frustrating. The calendar icon always says WED 28 which is absolutely worse than not showing any date or time.

Assistive Access has been out for nearly a year and it's still a bit buggy. I'm very glad Apple is thinking about this and doing something, but it needs more attention urgently.

@Apple if you're listening, I will buy a new iPhone for my grandma if you fix this. Just give us the date on the home screen (and preferably a setting to allow the dynamic app icons because the calendar icon always has the wrong date).
