Is it possible to always have the dock in macOS visible; regardless of what application is open or if a window is fullscreen or not? I have a large monitor; therefore it is not a space issue and it just takes more to hover and wait for the dock to appear. I have the Automatically hide and show the dock set to "off". This seems like an easy change to make, but I cannot find the setting. Many thanks.

Full Screen does not allow for the Dock.
You can use the Green pill button (hold the Option key>Zoom) if you want to take up all the screen real estate but not be in Full Screen Mode

Full Screen does not allow for the Dock.

I think this might be what you want: hold down the Option key and double-click on any window corner when the double arrow symbol appears (see screenshot!). This fills your screen with the window, but leaves the menu bar and dock visible. Another kind of full screen! Hope this helps you!

Many thanks; this is helpful. I have always used Windows and the auto-hiding of the dock on full screen just does make sense for some use cases; just let the user decide how they want to work.
