Siri Remote 3rd Gen going flat and requiring regular recharging days, 3rd time in 7 days.

Remote has required to be recharged 2 times in 6 days, on its 3rd charge now. Previously it was only once or twice a year.
Siri is OFF, and Apple TV is only turned on when using services from/off the device.
Last charge lasted 3 days and with the alert 10% Need to charge to unusable onscreen alert showing and the remote being unusable within minutes.
Apple TV is only generally used 6hrs x 7 days a week if lucky.
Bad Batt - ?
Only an issue since tvOS 17.1 UD - coincidence?
tvOS vs Remote FV - ?
Just one of those IT things - shutdown, turn off, disconnect, wait 15min, reconnect, power up, setup, reboot, test and things just work - ?
BT/IR on Remote continually TX?
- NO evidence as Apple TV doesn’t turn on, is on when it’s not supposed to be or appears to be on. Being that it is an always On Standby device.
- NO extra activity light on Apple TV to advise its getting extra instructions or ON.
tvOS install bug?
- Some issue with compatibility with tvOS 17.1 and Siri Remove 3RD Gen?
- Some issue with tvOS install/reboot/restart needs a hard/cold post OS Restart to put itself right?
- Some issue with tvOS and Remote/s where remove then add Remote/s fixes connectivity issue?
Remote/tvOS Charge cycle?
- Something in Siri Remote has a hiccup and 3RD time round gets its self sorted?
- Siri Remote charger/reporting control SW (Remote side or tvOS side) needs looking at since last update as it might be causing excessive Remote power drain?
