How to Stop Contact Photos Auto-Updating on my iPhone 15?

I don’t even have the contact saved in my phoneand definitely not on any social media platform and his picture has taken over the MAYBE:”this person” contact where I text him.

Has someone figured this out yet, it’s real

You've missed the point. I setup my contacts and add a photo if I (not apple, not any one else, just ME!) want to add a photo. I want to see it. I do not want Apple changing it every time that contact changes their photo somewhere and I CERTAINLY don't want people that I haven't added photos for or temporary contacts to start showing up with photos from their recent drunken nights out. So shutting off contact photos is not the answer.

Everyone in my phone get a unique an embarrassing photo! Im tired of it just randomly switching one day. It makes me not want an IOS product anymore!! A lot of these photos are also so old I no longer have a copy!!

It's not updating your phone. It's how the person messaging you prefers to be seen. You can still choose a contact photo on your end for people in your contacts list.

Apple should change that, just imagine having a coworker or someone you are tired of seeing, and now when the person calls you, their profile picture shows up! How annoying is that!

The problem is, they are Not a saved contract. I don’t want any information about them. It’s a temporary contact. I have my phone not to share if you’re not in my contacts.

Exactly the reason I found this thread! Hey APPLE I DONT want to see my coworkers face on my phone. Seeing their pic pop up INSTANTLY annoys my soul

You can revert to the previous settings for an individual contact. But as far as I can tell, you have to do that for each contact separately.

This doesn’t solve the problem because I have to go into each contact and make this adjustment. I need a solution that blanket stops this for all of my contacts at once.

All you can do there is show it or not show it. that is not what is wanted. we want it to stop updating and overriding what was put in.

Yes but I have to do this FOR EVERY INDIVIDUAL THAT UPDATES???
