About 80% Limit with iPhone 15 models

With iPhone 15 models, you can choose between Optimized Battery Charging, 80% Limit, and None.

When you choose 80% Limit, your iPhone will charge up to about 80 percent and then stop charging. If the battery charge level gets down to 75 percent, charging will resume until your battery charge level reaches about 80 percent again.

With 80% Limit enabled, your iPhone will occasionally charge to 100 percent to maintain accurate battery state-of-charge estimates.

No need to worry! This is very normal thing, and it happens to me from time to time.

Is it stopping at 88% when left on the charger or did you stop charging when it went to 88%? It should go to the full 100% occasionally even when set on the 80% Limit.

Then why is it charging to 100% like every 3 days for me? it is super annoying and I know it is ruining my battery health. I only plug in my phone one time in the morning and I use less than 50% battery ever in a single day (usually about 30%).

Yes… same thing happened with my phone. Even there is sudden surge in cycle counts.

cycle count is When you use your iPhone, its battery goes through charge cycles. You complete one charge cycle when you've used an amount that represents 100 per cent of your battery's capacity.

when we set battery level 80%, the cycle count should not increase ..

Is this happening purposely to decrease the battery health?

When using my iPhone 15 Pro Max, and with charging limited to 80%, I've noticed the following:

• When using official charging cable - phone gets to 80% and maintains this. Charging icon still appears though.
• When using a non apple magsafe battery pack - same as above.

Does anyone else's still show the charging symbol when at 80%? is it normal?

I thought the phone was to stop taking a charge and only start charging again at 75%

If i set the 80% Limit battery gets down to 75% charging will not resume until 80% again its fall down can you tell me any setting we have to set for that

Makes sense. Happened to me just now.

This just happened to me now. My phone was charged up to 97%. I went outside and cant get enough data signal so I restarted it and from 96 it became in 100% batter. What the fck is happening?
