Macbook pro delivery

Hello, the macbook pro m3 pro was out of stock so i ordered it for pickup at December 5th, but now it’s November 19th and the shop has the macbook pro m3 pro in stock while my order says it’s shipping to the store. Any ideas why I need to wait 2.5 weeks if it’s in stock?

MacBook Pro M5 backorder shipping estimate Hi, I recently purchased a new MacBook Pro M5, 32gb RAM, 512 SSD (in silver) from an authorized retailer (B&H Photo) on 01/26/26. It was a special order with an estimated shipping time of about 2-4 weeks. The 24gb model has an estimated shipment time of 2 days. According to B&H, my product is backordered through the manufacturer. I'm wondering how long it could take for Apple to build/ship this machine off? This is my first Mac and I'm new to the process. Any insight/help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Why is my new MacBook Air M4 'Preparing to Ship' for 3 days? Order new macbook air M4 on 6th March 2025, but from 3 days it is showing that “Preparing to Ship”. I can’t understand that what is going wrong please show some fresh update. [Re-Titled By Moderator]

You may not actually have to wait. Sometimes a Mac order will be delivered ahead of schedule if the supply chain can accommodate that.

Of course, I assume you can always buy now from the shop and simply reject the one on order when it delivers to that store.

The choice is yours.
