Wifi connects, but no internet connection
This is more of a problem with solution thread. Search brown on a lot of the threads never found our particular solution, so I wanted to share it with others…
We had an issue with an iPhone 12, iOS 15.5, losing connection with the internet. It showed connection to wifi, but gave a “no internet connection” error and acted accordingly (not pulling data). All other devices in the home connected without issues, and the phone of issue, had the same issue with other WiFi’s as well. We did all the standard troubleshooting including restarting the phone, restarting the router/modem, resetting the phone’s network, turn Wi-Fi on and off, turning airport mode on and off, searched around online, etc.
Nothing worked for us until I noticed that the time was off the phone. I was at the end of my rope with the Wi-Fi solution, so I figured I might as well fix something that I know is easy. I went into Settings> General> Date & time; to find that, somehow, guessing during the previous update, the date had changed to January 1970.
I changed it manually, and when I exited date and time, I started getting notifications. It was fixed!
Not suggesting, this is a fix-all for everybody, but it worked for us, so I thought I should share.
Good luck!
