iOS 17.1.1 Issues on iPhone

I had NO issues with my iphone sounds prior to the iOS 17.1.1 update. The upgrade DID "alter the fundamental functionality of the device...there were [NO] underlying issues before this update."

Unfortunately, your response does not address the fact that my alert and notification tones are silent. The haptics work.

I figured it out. I was auto connected to a bluetooth speaker that was not being used. I turned the option on that speaker to "Not Connected." That solved the problem.

However, I had been connected to that speaker when it was not in use prior to this last upgrade and I had not experienced this issue.

MelDD75, not sure if this would help in your case, but my dad had a similar issue when listening to his music over a bluetooth speaker (not using headphones), and this is what fixed it: Settings >> Sounds & Haptics >> Headphone Safety >> if the "Reduce Loud Audio" button is on, slide it left to turn it off.

i had the same audio issue after the update and fixed it by going into sound and haptics and tuning on headphone safety and sliding the meter all the way to the right to 100 decibles. It worked but if you play around with it by turning it off then on or adjusting it multiple times you have to exit out and come back. Then it’s fine. Remember to turn up volume on I tunes again. It turns it down.

For the audio, check under the Music Settings for Sound Check, after the update I found that it was turned on automatically and lowered my overall volume.

There’s an update! 17.1.2!!!!

OK please try a hard reboot and see if that helps you.

In order to do a hard reboot:

1. quickly press the volume up button
2. quickly press the volume down button
3. press and hold the power on button until you see the Apple logo

OK then do the restore from the iPhone by going to settings >> General >> Transfer or Reset iPhone

I have and also big problems. Maybe it will help you to drain the battery totally, I used an usb ventilator. After that try to charge it. For me that was the solution.

I switched my phone off for 1 minute. The volume is now working again.

Try a restart of your phone and make sure that it is not in silent mode or do not disturb

Have any of you tried updating to the new latest stable version of iOS which is 17.1.2

I just updated my iPhone 13 to IOS 17z My volume was all messed up. Way too loud even when I turned everything down as low as possible. Finally saw someone had suggested to shut off the phone so I did. It seems to have helped but the volume on text notifications and a few other things are still loud! Anyone know of any resolution for this??

My sounds are screwed up as well! Some apps that I would normally turn the sound off so I don’t disturb anyone around me, I can’t turn the sound down or off! Plus sounds are so loud! Also, I had to unpair and repair my hearing aids. My bluetooth isn’t working properly. I even git a hold of my son who is a phone repair guy, he looked into it for me, he said I have 3 choices; 1 wait for a fix to the update, 2 do a factory reset, 3 get a new phone. Not going to buy a new phone, don’t want to do a factory reset, so I guess I wait! This crap happens after EVERY update. I love my iphone, but if this keeps happening, I may start thinking about android.

I had a similar issue. I ended up finding out that there was a “terms and conditions” thing that I hadn’t agreed to in settings. The “findmy” and iCloud sections were disabled until I clicked “agree” on the new terms and conditions.

Hi to all I AM FIXED

Things I did

1. changed my Apple ID passeword
2. turned off iMessage and facetime
3. signed out if apple id
4. hard reset my ohone

now I have iMessage FaceTime and notifications again

i had done all the steps above before except for changing my Apple ID password so maybe that’s it?
