I used to be able to edit text messages. I just downloaded version 17.1.1 and that feature is no longer there. How do I edit text messages with IOS 17.1.1?

You can still edit a recently-sent message up to 5 times within 15 minutes of sending it. From the Messages app on your iPhone, select a conversation with the message you want to edit. Touch and hold the message bubble, then tap Edit.

What were they thinking? I used to love Apple products, but not being able to edit a long scrolling text, has made me more open to research android phones. Any android phone suggestions?
Well, I supposed Apple listened to us lol. The edit feature was back today. I was very happy. I’m able to unsend and edit texts again. Who knows, maybe they patched it overnight?

Not working here. Maybe it’s only certain models. I bought an SE a few months ago. It would really suck if this persists.
While I was able to resolve editing text messages I’m now having an issue with the Find My app - all contacts who previously shared locations are suddenly gone. Anyone else experience that?
How did you resolve text edit? No suggestion so far has worked on my brand new 15 pro - it’s absolutely useless.

Yep, using notes is the only solution I’ve come up with as well. Unbelievably frustrating and such an inconvenient process.
I am able to drag the cursor to anywhere in the text sometimes, but rather inconsistently.
texting just went from efficient to inefficient overnight. Recently every update seems to take 10 steps backwards. I’m disappointed in the changes being made.
