My apple pay keeps saying hold near reader but doesn’t work

It needs to be no more than 2 inches away from the terminal reader.

Also, make sure the screen on the terminal is ready to accept the payment. The cashier or attendant can tell you when its ready.

Ask the Cashier:

If you are looking to use Apple Pay at a store, then ask the cashier as the register. Sometimes, you need to hover it over card reader at the cash register.

I am having the same issue on my iPhone 15 pro and have the latest update.

I'm having the same problem with my new iPhone 15 Pro. Just got it a few days ago and I've tried to use it at several stores and it gets stuck on the "Hold near reader" message

Mine as well did u figure it out ?
