17.1.1 update. Message search for gifs and #images no longer work?

Happened to my iPhone, too! So frustrating!!! Any fixes out there yet?

Personally, I really like the fact that things I don't use every time I send a message are out of the way.

That doesn’t solve the problem. The voice recorder for recording voice messages is gone, as well as other icons. I’ll be googling how to unload this new iOS!

There’s an extension you need to download and once you’ve done that you’ll have access to your giphy as you did before update.

You have to download the GIF APP and turn on permission. SMH HATE IT THAT WAY BUT IT WORKS

I find I have to access my other gif apps (Gypsy is a favorite, but I have specialty gifs, too, like for cats & dogs, too. I open the App & copy/paste or import it into a document like in text, although the text & gif have to be sent separately as text does with gifs already, so my friends don’t notice the difference. But I haven’t been able to import them into FB or X (Twitter) & that’s a real drag!

But it’s something you might try doing. If anyone has success uploading into FB or X, I’d really appreciate knowing how you did it (thank you).

When you click on the + button, a whole list of options will show up. I have a feeling you’re not scrolling down far enough to see ‘More.’ Try this & see if it works for you. I found both my Gyphy & GIFS Apps listed under ‘More.’ It’s not the best fix ever, but it does at least give us the option this way to access other Apps.

Have you actually downloaded the Giphy App. It used to be part of the suite of gifs without downloading the app, but nowadays you have to download GIFs & Giphy & any other gifs apps you like to use. So, when clicking on “More,” the particular gif app should show up. But I would give it a bit of time to show up; 15 minutes max should work, though it might be available within 5 minutes. Try it & let us know how long it took to show up in the “More” List.

Thank you!!! I tried that and it has definitely been moved to under stickers now. Completely ridiculous to move it there. It’s obviously not a sticker pack! Thank you for posting this, I would never have thought to look under stickers!

It’s awful. I waited because when it first came out I googled it and saw there were so many issues with mail, esp AOL, I also can’t find my gifs, get Search Tenor and I can’t even use it. Every day is another problem. I feel bad because I know what you’re going thru and a lot of us are. I’d send an emoji but I can’t!!

This is BS (not you, Apple). The entire reason I choose apple is because Android makes you hunt for things. What takes Apple 1 step takes Android 3-5. If apple is going to start doing the same as Android, then there is no longer a reason to buy these overpriced products.

I understand completely. I’ve had so many problems it’s not funny, not to mention time wasted with calls to Apple,holding on and then they don’t acknowledge the update did anything wrong. I love Apple products and support but for a person who doesn’t know tons about computers I am at a loss after the update. I hope it works out eventually. ✌️

I just updated from a 12prol to 15pro. And lost is so much of my life by my gifs to others and from disappearing from my life! Why would Apple need to do that. Learn to go forward and not back in what is personal.
