imessage status different on multiple devices? one iphone says delivered, other says read.

I sent someone a message and there was no status under the blue bubble (did not say delivered or sent etc... it was just blank), so I assumed I was blocked based on our previous conversation. The next day I sent them another message and after a few moments the second message showed "delivered" under the blue bubble. After a quick internet search, I came to understand that apparently it can still show "delivered" even if you are blocked?? (I have iPhone 13 Pro with the latest ios 17 installed). Several days later, I powered on my older iPhone (the newer recent SE) to update it and charge it to use for an upcoming trip overseas. I'm logged in with the same Apple ID account across all my devices. I noticed before AND after updating the SE to ios17, that the second "delivered" message now says only "read" under the blue bubble without a day/time... meanwhile neither of us ever have our read receipts on! Always off! And I know from other contacts that a read receipt usually has a timestamp too (example, "Read Friday" or "Read 12:30 PM"). I don't recall ever seeing it without a timestamp?

So iphone13pro still shows the message as "delivered", while iphoneSE shows the message as "read". Was the message in fact delivered? Was it in fact read? Is ALL this a glitch and I'm still blocked???
