IPHONE 11 Issues with incoming calls and Text on iphone but can send them and call. BLUETOOTH HEARING DEVICE

I am the owner of an iPhone 11 that I received as a replacement after losing my original phone in June 2023. However, I am facing an issue where my brother and sister-in-law are unable to call or message me. Strangely, I can call or message them without any problem. Furthermore, this issue only arises when they contact me from their phones, which run on the Android operating system. I have attempted to fix the problem by restarting my phone, but it did not resolve the issue.

It is imperative to note that my hearing impairment device is connected to my phone through Bluetooth, and I have updated my phone to the latest iOS 17.0.1 version. Despite this, I am still unable to receive calls or messages from my brother and sister-in-law.

iPhone 13, iOS 17

It sounds like a perplexing situation, especially given that the issue seems to arise only when your brother and sister-in-law, who use Android devices, attempt to contact you. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot this problem:

  1. Ensure that your brother and sister-in-law's numbers are not accidentally blocked on your iPhone. Go to Settings > Phone > Blocked Contacts and Messages, then look for their numbers.
  2. Sometimes network-related issues can cause this. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will reset Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN settings. Note that you'll have to re-enter Wi-Fi passwords.
  3. Make sure that your Do Not Disturb mode is turned off. Go to Settings > Do Not Disturb and ensure it's toggled off.
  4. Temporarily disconnect your Bluetooth hearing device and check if that affects the ability to receive calls or messages. Reconnect it afterward.
  5. Turn off Bluetooth, wait a few seconds, and turn it back on. This can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.
  6. Check if there's a firmware update available for your Bluetooth hearing device and update it if needed.
  7. Although it's primarily an issue with your iPhone, it might be worth checking if there are any call-blocking settings or restrictions on your brother and sister-in-law's Android phones that might affect communication with your iPhone.
  8. Try having other Android users call or message you to see if the issue persists with them as well. This could help determine if it's specific to your brother and sister-in-law's phones or a broader issue.

By systematically going through these steps, you might be able to identify and resolve the issue. If the problem continues, reaching out to Apple Support or seeking assistance from your mobile carrier might be the next best steps.

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it is recommended to reach out to Apple Support or visit an authorized service center for further assistance. They can provide specific guidance based on your device model and iOS version.
