After iOS 17.1.1 update my iPhone apps are not working correctly

Sooo many things not working! Volume is messed up, have to constantly readjust it, auto adding ALL phone calls to address book, messages are totally not working- can’t send a group message anymore, the message box is gone after adding more than 2 people, the auto correct is wayyyy out of control- have to backspace and it’s constantly adding 2 letters that have not been typed. Like what are you doing to us? Are you making us have to buy a new phone every year? Samsung looking mighty fine rn, and with all these glitches plus more, you’ll be losing many customers, esp those with older phones. I have iPhone 13 and this is awful! It’s not even paid off yet!

My work iPad updated automatically (my personal devices are manual for this exact reason). I am a teacher and I use “Files” to mark up PDFs on screen for my class - this is now not even a thing I can do due to these glitches.

We also use an app called Seesaw and the students whose iPads updated are messing up their work BIG time. It’s so sad, all their hard work! I feel so bad for them.

These glitches are on an operating system level and are so broad over so many device functions it is NOT funny. C’mon Apple!!! Why are you releasing rubbish? Are you rushing your work? You’re suppose to test and check, and check and test before your realise new iOS!!

My battery is draining like crazy. It barely adjusts the volume. I have to put it on speaker just to hear the other person better. While I was at work, I got a call that was somehow automatically on speaker and did nothing when I tried to turn speaker off. I sent a text earlier and it added a whole extra word that I didn’t type. That’s all I can say for now.

Sorry, that doesn’t pass the smell test. That may have been a valid excuse in IOS 6, 7, 8 etc. but as time has gone on, Apple should have expanded their list for testing the apps with many of the same tests that broke previous IOS versions.

The IOS operating system has been around far too long for some of the major hiccups that still occur. It’s not like they are writing an operating system for a number of manufacturers’ equipment like Android.

Apple makes the hardware. Therefore Apple has insight to what the operating systems need to perform the functions required by the user based on what has worked in the past.

Bottom line, pushing OS without internal betas and ruining the customer experience is not what a responsible company does. Apple has become comfortable in their complacency. Fortunately (for them), they have people that will excuse it away.

I’m at the point where I’m considering no longer updating any of my devices because the new iOS is so horrible. So many things that worked well have been changed and now stink.

Voice dictation and correction is much worse - if I go back to try and correct something that has been mistyped, I can no longer scroll up to a top paragraph to make a change, I have to delete subsequent paragraphs to go back to the first one.

When taking a call they have reversed the icons on the phone so that if I want to put it on speaker I now have to click the other side. What is the possible point of moving the icons around on the screen? They just want to make it harder for us. Why change something when it is working?

Voice dictation is far worse than it used to be, and often won’t hear the first words I say so I have to go back and repeat it. I often have to click the microphone several times and then it often won’t hear my dictation and I have to turn it off and back on again.

The personal emojis (using my avatar) which used to show up on the bottom left corner when I was typing a message have now disappeared. When I went online to get instructions on how to find them nothing worked. Again why take something that works well and screw it up ? I am getting more and more infuriated with Apple and all the stupid changes they are making.

I’m sure that I’ll find lots more problems, but that’s just the first day or two. And, I am using a 13 Pro, not an obsolete iPhone.

When I updated my iPad to 17.1.1 I can no longer get my email, get into the APP store...nothing is working and whenever I try to download my email server it crashes or keeps telling me to retry. This morning I seen another update for 17.2.1, oh I'm not going to even try! I have turned my VPN off, and it doesn't help. I think it may be time to call Apple Care!

I just asked tech support at Apple if I can go back to before update 17.1 they said no! I also have issues not being able to read texts write writing them I can’t see them fully and the voicemail dial pad is awful! I can’t figure out how to get voicemail easily like before and the extra information showing is bugging me! Ugg I don’t like it the tech told me how to shutoff updates but I think I will wait until after 17.1.2 in case they fix items that will help me with my issues. I think I gave volume issues as well? Crappy update

The last update screwed up apps and other stuff on my phone. Now there’s another update, is this update going to fix the screw ups from the last update? George Orwell must of been psychic when he wrote “1984”. We’re definitely being ease dropped on. And from now on when I’m not using my phone I will keep it face down with the camera lenses covered. I shouldn’t be bothered about else dropping since when I try to use voice commands the phone screws those up too. I have a iPhone 13mini. I HATE IT! I want to go back to 6s. I have 2 requirements if I’m ever going upgrade to a new iPhone again, PHONE MUST HAVE A HOME BUTTON AND FIT IN THE FRONT POCKET OF MY SKINNY JEANS. GOING TO LOOK INTO GETTING A NEW BATTERY FOR MY 6s so I can stop using this peace of **** iPhone 13.

This is the worst Apple download ever 17.1! When I’m voice typing a text which I do 90% of the day with my clients, it puts in capital letters in the middle of a sentence and commas where they don’t belong. There’s a little blue highlight shadow that keeps following my verbal text and when I try to go back to correct a word that might’ve not have come through completely it takes away the whole sentence ! This whole thing is annoying. I hate Samsung but I’m considering moving over there because I always complained that with Samsung you have to take two or three extra steps compared to Apple. Now Apple is now the same way! When I go to attach a photo I could go down below but now I have to go to two different screens to find my pictures to attach. Someone needs to fix this!
