After iOS 17.1.1 update my iPhone apps are not working correctly

Also, Apple does know iOS 17 is buggy. They’re not going to come out and say “Yeah, our update is super buggy”. However, they will quietly put out updates to remedy these issues over the coming months. It won’t fix everything in one release, as that would mean they would be working on it for months. Instead, they’ll fix bits and pieces over the updates. So while iOS 17.2 may not have helped some people, it likely helped someone else who was having a different issue.

17.2 was a slight improvement but it kind of reversed the problem with copy and paste. I can now copy and paste for work (thank goodness) but on other things, it is still inserting %20 in between all the words.

this update. I can’t use my earbuds

to answer phone beachside if this problem. Please correct this as soon

as possible

IOS 17 is Apple's version of Windows CE... It's terrible. All of my apps work improperly now, I lost years of valuable health data... We ended up switching to a Samsung S21 Ultra. That was the final straw for us. To Apple Developers, not sure where you weren't educated, but this OS is unacceptable! Another thing, anyone who is so paranoid about their phone's content that needs a 28 digit key, a recovery key for this, another password for that... overkill, total overkill and its annoying as ****. This NSA garbage needs an opt out for those of us who want ONE password (if requested) and that's it. We're done with this shoddy nonsense.

So, I took that day off and went to the “Genius Bar” where I found, after three hours, the reason they’re “geniuses” is because they get paid to walk around all day, being rude, and not knowing how to fix anything. *If it helps, I did finally reach someone at Apple by phone who said she wasn’t supposed to admit there are problems with the 17.1.1 update, but they’re getting a lot of calls. Shortly after that, we got disconnected…I never knew until now that APPLE IS A SCAM!!

After my iPhone automatically updated to IOS 17, the messaging app on my Mac stopped working (not iMessage...works fine, but messages to Android, etc) . After some sleuthing, I discovered that Catalina wasn't compatible with IOS 17. The notice given was to update the Mac to a newer OS.

Here's the problem: my Mac is a late 2013. Catalina is the most recent OS the Mac can run. So it seems I have two choices: buy a new Mac, or poke out text messages on my iPhone. I realize my Mac is 10 years old, but it's still functioning flawlessly. I have installed an SSD that made a world of difference with the Mac. I am totally happy with it. Sadly, Apple seems to be pushing hardware sales (taking a page from Microsoft with their consent upgrades).

Whoever is responsible for the last 3 updates 17.1 through 17.3 has a lot of explaining to do. I have a terrible time trying to rearrange icons and working with apps because they freeze, etc. Apple has become the product to avoid like the plague.

I totally agree with you and also have a 13. My notifications turn on and off randomly, the spell check adds or removes words, and suddenly my phone does not charge.

People have told me in the past that companies such as Apple or Samsung, purposely design updates that cause older models to glitch, but I never believed that until now

If you were mindful enough to turn off auto-update, and make Apple ask if you want their buggy update. From here on, I will be treating new updates as beta versions. In other words, I 'll let others bug test them first.

Well, lo and behold! My messages sent from my Mac to Android devices has begun working again. I have made no changes to either the Mac OS or the iPhone IOS. The iPhone IOS is still 17.2.1, as before.

I'm happy that it's working again, but would like to know why it quit and id it's going to stop working again at some point?

I had some issues and spoke to salespeople at a cell phone provider store they said my phone cannot support the updates as it is older, iPhone 8 SE purchased in 2020? He said it is not 4 years old but rather 9 years old to the newest phone? I guess that’s why people don’t keep their phones for long and buy it outright as they will probably change it in 2 years or so…what if I buy a new phone and turn off automatic updates? I never knew about that option.

Totally agree w/everything so far… my phone automatically uploaded to a higher iOS 17.1.12(?) overnight!! Everything now gets underlined as you are typing. I have an Apple 14, they’ve been HOUNDING me to BUY more storage; because everything is full. I told them that I bought 256 GB from Google; email, photos, FB, Messages, etc. WHY do I need an Apple iCloud too??

I can’t even dictate a message after update. I could crash and die from texting and driving. Apple WTF. With the amount of money that you charge for your products we should never have one single issue. Fix it or I’m taking my 2 million dollar business account to Cricket

Worst until 17.3. I am constantly being logged out of everything I log in to that normally don’t require new sign in. Just now, all video poker games in the app store tell me game not available, not available in the US Store and the like. I am in the US and using US servers I am sure…. no way so many games all just became unavailable.

Apple please undo or fix this update immediately!!! My phone is slower, my apps don’t work, my phone shuts off randomly now!!! My phone worked perfectly before this update. Did you do this on purpose Apple???? Seems like it.
