How do I remove and then re-install Xcode 15.0.1 on my MacBook.

A well-meaning person was trying to help me figure out what he believed was a problem in Xcode. So he changed the code and now it really doesn't work. How do I remove Xcode 15.0.1 on my MacBook? From what I understand, it is more complicated that just dragging the app into the trash. There are a mess of files in my computer that have to be individually thrown out too. Does anyone know how to do this or what the files are?

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.12

What is (not) happening with Xcode now, and what was the perceived issue?

Xcode is an app bundle, so dragging it to the trash is enough.

But if something else here is the issue—see question above—then removing and re-installing might not resolve the issue.

As a potential test, create a new macOS login, log into that, launch Xcode from there, and see if it works.
